Man it's beautiful. I love the black LaF's but this one has so much more presence. Can't wait to see some pics of it being used on the road!

    Ciao Traveller...
Thanx so much for keeping this legend alive by completing this ultimate restoration. Following the process step by step and now watching the final "piece of art", really touches my emotions. Your passion for the cavallino rampante is truely amazing and what you have completed with your F40 is beyond words. Hope you enjoy it to the fullest...

All very exciting after all this time and again thanks to all for further kind comments. Surprisingly it all felt pretty good albeit at such slow speeds, and you can really feel the additional bite, and load, that those super wide 11.5 inch front tyres give and for sure they will provide a work out. Clutch is quite aggressive but felt better at the end of the day than the beginning and we need to give more modulation and progression to the brake pedal but I have a feeling this is going to be a monster, fingers crossed.

Meanwhile a rushed interior shot. We are shortly hoping to fit name tags for the various switches and warning lights, a 'horsey' horn button and then the interior is pretty much done. Driving position seems to be just perfect for me (6ft 2+) but just as well we modified the runners at an early stage as now I have absolutely perfect sight of change up lights and instruments. LM seats felt great with excellent support and looked it too.

As to where the shakedown is, that is currently in Evos hands but I will of course post when I know.

I have anxiety thinking all of this excitement may end soon now that you have it close to completion. I'm seriously addicted to this thread. Thank you Tim. One quick question, how did you come to know of Moto-technique?

It won't be dying anytime soon, it still has some legs on it.

I worked with Kevin quite some years ago when I had a Daytona Spyder that we totally renovated and so knew him both as a person and also his and his teams work. Since then it has actually got better and the scope of skills in this modest industrial shed in South West London is second to none. My new carbon clam is just a work of art now that I have looked at it in sunlight and any concerns I had about the additional expense have faded. It may have been expensive but here you don't feel short changed.

I didn't notice the LF in the background until the 3rd time I looked at this picture. The car looks stunning. I'm so glad you decided not to add any more decals, it looks perfect just like this.

Like several other posters I joined this site specifically for this thread. What a read! Thank you very much for giving a punter like myself access to an experience I never would have had otherwise. Can't wait for the EVO feature and the mooted hardcover.

Congratulations on the build. Enjoy the car in good health.

Sorry guys, I am afraid after the mad photo rich rush to get the car ready for Ferrari Racing Days, little to report of interest for now. Car is back with MT having small details attended to, not exactly photo rich. Think I have managed to source an original 'horn' button and dashboard labelling ongoing and then we need to get Kevin back up the ladder for the definitive shots.

Meanwhile trying to resolve shakedown details with Evo, most specifically the location which is more of an issue due to my seemingly unsolvable exhaust problem. Sounds great but too loud for many tracks.

You could try Zolder too, they have regular open pitlane days for the racing boys (license required) for shakedowns and no dB limit. But it's not the ideal track for the F40
