Ok, This is what Willian H really wants... The Original Slutmobile...Hybrid Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks very nice even if it isn't original. At least you can drive and ejoy it without destroying it's 100 pt authentic restoration "investment".
it's a '64 engine: 4.2, slightly hotter cam, SUs, MSD ignition. very torque-y, your right foot can get you in trouble. Supertraps at the end of a straight exhaust - they can be removed with a few bolts if needed. running gear: suspension is tight all around, running wilwood rotors and calipers on front as i drive in traffic, but originals are sitting on the shelf to be swapped if needed. mini-like knock off wheels, i forget the tire size. 4-speed body: composite front bonnet with the lemans headlight/foglight setup, i'm searching for an aluminum one. bumper deletes all around. fuel safe tank in the back, inlet is inside the rear cabin. lexan rear window interior: stock uncut dash, leather seats fixed to the floor and back (I'm 6'4"), all other materials removed, all metal inside was cleaned and painted when exterior was done as was the roll cage. not at my desktop, so more pics later
Just ordered all sorts of goodies for mine Radiator, shocks, upgraded brake calipers, urethane bushings etc She leaks oil worse than Ferrari Mechanic wants to drop engine, trans & diff to rebuild & re seal it all

This is the right way to do a race oriented resto mod E-type. Very, very nice. I'm thinking of doing something similar with my car, only more GT (i.e. comfortable highway cruiser with some better than stock cornering ability) than race.
Very Nice indeed where did you get or make the back windscreen in the hatch ? Gary Espada 8394 EtypeFHC 887465
It was fabricated for the car. a pic since I resurrected this thread - a nice roadster I saw a few weeks ago: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello fellow E-Type lovers, here is my car in progress. It's a 1963 Series 1. This was a running car that was restored (a nice restoration, but not with 100% attention to detail) in the early 80's with lacquer paint. It had a lot of chicken foot cracking in the paint. It ran pretty well, it was all there. But the body was hurting under the paint. I drove it into the shop, a long time ago. I had it torn down to the last bolt, body, engine, suspension, all of it. Every spec of rust has been addressed. Every little detail is being done to spec, including the radiator. (I can't remember what it was at the time but the restorer told me most people just go with a certain type that's accepted by judges but not perfect, however there was something available from England true to original. I went with that one.) I started all of this long before the latest price boom and was advised at the time to just ditch the car and get a better example. I'm am not replacing the brushed aluminum, I like the patina. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

teej, what do you dislike about your composite bonnet? Was that something you had made, or is it commercially available? $$$, if I may ask? Thanks
I'm not sure who fabricated the composite bonnet. It's not a dis-like for it. Just a preference for an aluminum one instead.
sixcarbs, what type coating is on the exhaust manifolds, porcelain? which shop is doing the restoration? thanks
