I don't know that I can agree. I think any 308 QV is pretty much the more robust and easiest Ferrari to maintain. 30 years/30k miles of ownership tells me that. In that 30 years, annual fluids changes, a couple of majors, a set of brake pads and a caliper rebuild, and a set of plug wires.

If you have mechanical skills and are not afraid to give it a go...go for it.

I agree with Plugzit. In fact that is the best list about Ferrari's I have seen to date.

The maintenance effort is actually easier than old British cars I have own(ed). The drunk Italians were better engineers than the drunk Brits :) Things come apart and go back together better on the Ferrari.

The parts are outrageous and sometimes...they are what they are.

The 348 might be a the way to go unless you are familiar with the new computer interfaces of the 355.

Nothing better than sitting at a stop light with a Ferrari.....just sayin' ;)

I'd go along with that except that the 2V version of the engine has less cam parts to adjust. Either way. I do favor the 308 GTB QV if you can find one. Or even an early carb model if you like a challenge in carb tuning. But the OP did post here in the 348 section so I defer back to that car as being a lower maintenance version of a "modern" Ferrari.

First thought, this guy can't be for real.
Unless you are living in an area with the lowest cost of living imaginable, I can't see how you'd make the numbers work. You live rent and mortgage free somewhere? No tuition or student loans?
Not saying you can't do it, but if you do, I'd like to know your secret. Don't take it as negative, because I'm always evaluating how others make their money work for them, how they save, and where the best places to cut corners and find value are.

Has any one owned a boat? I've had my 348 for 2 years now. I also was a little nervous about servicing the car. Then I realized my boat slip for 4 months was $3500. That's with out any service at all. That made the 348 a joke to own. This brotherhood was another reason why I felt confident buying the car. Priceless!!!
The knowledge on this site is superior. Thanks again!
