    Hi ! I may have an opportunity to buy a 575 superamerica so I wanted to know the following :

    1/ what are the current prices ?
    2/ does it have a potential to appreciate since its a limited series ?
    3/ is the roof issue very bad ( have heard some negative comments on the roof )

    Your comments are much appreciated.

    According to an article in Forza last year,the roof is problematic and expensive to fix: mechanical repairs can easily exceed 20K,a roof replacement is 30K,parts can take months to get.

    I bought mine 8 months ago. It was my first ferrari. High mileage (35k) but well cared for example, and I got what I thought was a screaming deal. (Under 180k)

    I have not have any major issues yet, and have put around 2k miles on it. The roof is indeed a concern, but mine was replaced under warranty in 2009. I drive it 50/50 roof up and down, and despite a few little hiccups, experience has been generally good.

    As for value, I think you should consider a well priced one as an F car that probably won't depreciate much, but who knows whats gonna be worth what in the future.

    Several of your recent threads begin with this yet you do not say where you are and every market is different - I suspect you might be in Dubai in which case its even more difficult for most of us to comment on pricing

    The problems with the glass roof on the Superamerica have been discussed extensively. Check out these threads:

    <http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/456-550-575-sponsored-bradan/405091-failure-rate-575-superamerica-roofs.html>

    The mechanical problem (roof slamming onto the rear deck) is curable with new assistance struts that are available directly from the manufacturer. The other issue, delamination of the roof glass, shown in the photos below, cannot be fixed. AFAIK, new roofs are no longer available. When they were, the cost was around $30,000.

    S/A values have been discussed here:

    <http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/456-550-575-sponsored-bradan/450331-superamerica-barchetta.html>

    The poster who got a Superamerica for less than $180K (albeit with high mileage) got a screaming deal. A very low mileage, fully optioned, S/A sold at one of the Monterey auctions in August for $330,000.

    Regarding future value, if that is a significant factor in your purchase decision, you should perhaps step back and rethink why you are interested in the S/A in the first place, or any modern Ferrari for that matter. Also, read the "Is the Bubble About to Burst" thread in the vintage section. Just my $0.02, of course. We all have different perspectives.

    Thanks, Dominic. I love the look of this Bianco SA too. It came from Ferrari of Washington (FoW), not New England (FoNE). Did you mean FoW? I'd be very surprised to learn that there are two Superamericas in this same unusual color combination. Or did FoNE have this car at one time before FoW?

    Bump this thread.
    Market for these cars is a bit nutty, all over the map.
    I see cars offered from low $200ks to high $300ks with not much different about them.
