THe rear main tubes. Even not of the same length !! I do not speak about straightening them... Image Unavailable, Please Login
The horror!! Poor car, but at least it found a new life after its trauma. Maybe it will find yet another life now that it might be worth something one day. Just out of curiosity, what was the asking price for this divorce on wheels?
Hmmmm. One of those 'barn finds' that the auction houses seem to love. Gotta be a LOT of love put back into this poor thing. It could suck all the love out of you and leave you stranded.
The job to be done is nothing for me. What I do not like is discovering things at a glance when aside the car (not described as it really was), while the current owner (for 27 years...) says not to be aware of. BEst of the best being what anybody could have seen easily, the colour combo. Then, you are afraid about what you cannot see ! As for the cams I insisted to check, and uncovered GTi ones. (it took 1 hour for them to find the right tool..., while I was in a factory !!)
Hi all, I found this site having found another ad for this car and am thinking it might possibly be my Maserati 3500gt that was stolen from me in Melbourne in the early 1990's. It was a series one, had webber carbs, was midnight blue with similar chalking in the paint and in a similar state of disrepair internally, had a nardi steering wheel, LHD but it did have both the front and back ends! The fabric on the seats were silver marine blue although stuffed was there too at the time of theft. The front clip had a minor bump in the middle whilst the rear was in Red oxide having had a repair prior to me owning it. I just wonder if the ripping off of the front and rear were a poor attempt at a disguise? So I wonder if this is it. Certainly the Maserati bits look like mine but I wonder if you could send me any other pictures you have of the car or info so I can further study them to make sure? The chassis number is not as illustrated but as it is suggested they look dodgy. At the time I was a young man, a bit of a dreamer, and bought this car from the U.S.and shipped it to Australia with a view of restoring it. Alas six months later it was stolen from our property, the thieves had the audacity to convince my neighbors they had bought it from me and get them to move their cars so they could tow it out with a tow truck. Unfortunately it was uninsured as it wasn't going and it was behind several cars on our property! So I ended up paying for seven years a car loan for an empty car space! I can tell you this has a deleterious effect on a young person's mind in regards to chasing their dreams, particularly of the expensive sports car type. Anyone know of the whereabouts of the car now as the ad seems to have disappeared? Where was the car located? Did the chap say where he bought it from back then? Can I please have contact details? It would be wonderful to find my car again, even in this condition! Any help from fellow car lovers greatly appreciated. Regards Dik
