I think the problems would be with titling/insurance, and not the work done to the cars. IMO at least.

for a little fun, here's a thread on the auction over at RL: PCNA GT3 Auction is at 4PM today - Rennlist Discussion Forums

Sorry, I was completely UNAWARE of the auction, but now I am up to speed. Accordingly, to be helpful, Ive posted everything I found out from PCNA so I can share with others in order to be helpful.

FWIW, I was speaking about being helpful, and did not mean to suggest you were stating misinformation, sorry. That said, my information was and is correct, outside of just the 20 cars which I was unaware had been branded (for some strange reason). I simply hadn't even heard about the auction, but it seems yet again, what was perceived as a negative thing has been good for the car & Porsche.

I understand when re-sold PCNA will issue a USA title which will facilitate insurance, but I cannot confirm this. I cant imagine they would sell cars that cannot be insured.

Again, one can just avoid the 20 if its an issue.

Its all good Joe :) ...I'm just trying to be helpful as well.

I'm very excited about this car as I have ordered one myself....due for delivery in Jan. So the results of these sales are good to hear.

Agreed, and next time I ought to delve deeper before I respond!

Either way, its all good, we all know more than we did yesterday.

That said I'd be remiss if I didn't share with you and the OP the reason for my personal optimism (below).

You'd better be excited, its insane!

Congratulations! ...you've got quite the pair now.

Did you get the front lift? Please share your thoughts either way... I'm struggling a little with this option. Just not sure the additional 1.2" is worth it.

So Joe, does this mean we can expect you to start a future "991 GT3" thread just like your "997 GT3 RS" thread? Joking (partially) of course!!!

So we anticipate far fewer 991 GT3s and GT3 RSs than the 997 variant. Wow! Seem to be rare cars indeed. I hear it's difficult to get these (esp. RS) because 918 buyers are given first shot at the limited production 911s. I guess buy now -- new or previously owned -- if you can!

Indeed, 918 buyers are given preference for the 991 RS, but, like anything, you can get it if you really want it. That said, 991 GT3 RS production might rival GT3 production.

The GT3 RS thread is quite enough for me, in fact I wasn't even going to post on the 991 GT3 in this thread but felt it might be useful if I did, and one thing led to another! Bear in mind that my 991 GT3 is a daily driver (which means post-office, bank, grocery store, everything), so I never went into ownership seeking a collectible, just a nice car to use. With that in mind, a thread is not something I plan, but I will contribute when I can to threads others start.

I hope the posts thus far have been enlightening in some way!

Thank you, although I suspect the Meissen Blue RS is sulking.

I would honestly say that the front lift is ESSENTIAL. I would almost plead with anyone debating over this option to simply get it without regret. It really gives peace of mind, and the 991 GT3's unit is swift & efficient, gives significant added clearance, plus it can be raised or lowered on-the-fly. I love having it, and for me I could not use the car as a daily-driver without it. This even though I am a very careful driver and have owned many seriously low cars. FWIW I have the lift on the GT3 RS as well, but the 997's unit is slower and more ponderous. Still, I like having it there too, and I use it every single time I drive either car.

I went with the standard fuel tank as I don't do track days or long trips, and wanted all the luggage space, so I didn't think I needed the long-range fuel tank. Seems to be working out okay for me, I'm not at the pump too often.

The public seems to know what the GT3 is, and unlike some other more expensive cars where I get the reaction that suggests a little envy, in the GT3 so far all Ive gotten is knowing looks, a smile & thumbs up. You will love yours.

I really love the car but just can't get over the wing. Same with the turbo. I love the lines of the classic 911 but that wing is horrible. i am looking at getting into a new porsche but need to stay with the basic no sunroof 911s, only because of that wing. i personally would feel pretentious driving around in that car in the city. i appreciate what it is but......

I think the rear wing is automotive art, and suits the car's purpose, proportions & personality very well. I understand that it might be acquired taste, but looking at lots of images helps you appreciate it better. I think it'll grow on you!

Yes, i agree with everything you have said, but for driving on the streets in a big city it is
just too much. I guess one option would be to order a new boot lid and have the wing
removed for street use. Your photo looks great, love the color.

Joe, you've put yourself in a bit of a bind. If you talk up your 991 too much it could hurt your RS. If you talk up your RS too much it could hurt you 991, what to do? :)

C2? My previous 991? Yes. I just ordered an end of December build 991 GT3 as we speak, a certain Mr. Joe Sackey was very helpful and as always influential.

Tony, I don't know what to say besides congratulations. You'll be getting one of the last cars I believe.

I was reminded again today of what great cars they are and how fortunate we are to appreciate them.
