If Alonso decides to stay at Ferrari will Hamilton be offered the reported $30M? I could see Hamilton wanting to leave if he fails to win the WDC this season. The true 'silly season' has not really reached full force yet.

Just so you all know I do not really care if Alonso or Hamilton stay with their current teams. Driver changes have never effected my passion for F1.

Drivers, even the best, come and go. Sometimes we focus too narrowly on the celebrity aspects of the sport. Call it the Kardashian effect.

Ham in red is a dream come true for me.

Besides we can agree, that we want Ferrari back in the game, can't we :)

Seriously though, if Alonso is struggling, Ham would probably have the same issues, maybe worse, depends on whether the future changes at Ferrari are far reaching.

The buzz factor can work, if all are behind it with one aim IMO.

This season in theory should have been a cake walk for Hamilton, however factors outside his control, provided us with some entertainment, all in my humble opinion of course. ;)

The Kardashian effect is not nor has ever been in effect for us 'old timers' in my opinion and I hope that outlook stays true.

Trading Alonso for Lewis is, at best, a lateral move.
If Alonso is well and truly gone Lewis might be the best option though.

Silly. They give Ferrari 30M Euro and Ferrari has to go spend a ton for another top driver.

    I don't see it.

I also don't see Hamilton jumping from Merc to Ferrari. If he thinks politics in the team will be less, then he's an idiot.

    And he's not an idiot.

The only reason I see Hamilton jumping is if he sees Merc cutting back after winning the title. I really question Merc's long term commitment and spending after winning.

Then again, I question Ferrari's commitment also after the latest management change.

One thing for sure, Button is in the dog house at McLaren.

Possibly the case, but speed alone is not the only factor in F1, and yes he did and maybe still does have the desire and hunger to overtake everybody and everything in front of him.

I like that ^, but Fred being more of a wiser all rounder maybe a touch overall better. Having said that, there is hardly nothing between them IMO, and I reckon Fred would agree with that, with his praising of him.

Alonso does not like a team mate challenge that much is clear, liking having a more: Vettel and Webber situation, something which Hamilton has not the benefit of this year, and IMO he is coping with.

Methinks that Lewis has a new appreciation for Alonso's policy when it comes to teammates.

No one is going to shoot you. lol I just look at the last couple of years and see little advancement, blame it on all the changes but Ferrari is not improving like some other teams are.

All these possible changes it will be what it will be/ Look at Maldonado he was so ready to bail from Williams and into a Lotus....well what do you think about that move now? lol

Maldonado wrecks a car even as a passenger, unfair comparison.

It would be a f***ing disaster. The team would be in meltdown with all the BS antics, Facebook rants and criticisms etc. can you imagine how hambone would've coped this year, he's enough of a cry baby in the merc, which is the best car, he basically be crying and tantrumming his way around the track every week.

The guy is a waste of time. Alonso runs rings round the ****. If you have to change, get vettel, for the future, take bianchi or kvyat

Apart from his obvious driving skill, Hamilton has a very disruptive effect in any team.

I cannot see him fitting nicely at Ferrari with the Italian media constantly scrutinizing everything at the Scuderia. It wouldn't be long before they want his scalp, I think.

I agree Lewis Hamilton would not be a good fit at Ferrari - But I think he will be too busy contending for WDC for the next few years at Merc to be even bothered with signing with Ferrari - by the time Ferrari do their turnaround they maybe even looking at new commers like Versttappen Biachi & Kyvatt - IMHO

Lewis will never be a good fit for Ferrari. He's just too image conscious, and prefer to whine and cry about everything. I agree with someone posted above...better invest in Koby!
