Really? I saw a 918 a few weeks ago on Spadina downtown, filling up at the Shell station near the Gardiner. It was silver Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im assuming this is Wekerle's 918 since it was up near the Caledon way. Horrible loss, hope nobody was injured and really hope that fire got put out before that gas station exploded.
When I first saw the photo, I didn't know who took it. Now that I do, I hate to say it but it has to be true. The photographer is a friend of mine. It's a real shame to lose such a rare and exotic car. My condolences to the owner, who is a genuine car enthusiast.
so your saying if you don't know who took it .. then it can't be true? But you only believe it because its your "friend"
Smashed F40 and now this.. It's only plastic and metal at the end of the day, can be replaced with a cheque. People how ever can't. Glad they are ok.
Crazy. I had just driven past that gas station maybe an hour earlier on my way home from Forks of Credit.
I wonder if Porsche will recall them now like they did with the GT2's? Or was it GT3's? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Porsche dun goofed. First the new GT3 and now this... Glad to hear people are ok. Cars are replaceable.
Not sure if it is the car though. From the video his gasing up and the flames are shooting out from the gas cap section. Static discharge could have sparked the fuel (why we no longer have that little latch for auto filling on the nozzles)
My local Shell station has the auto fill feature on their nozzles again, which surprised me as the fire hazard was the reason I thought they took it away.
It also appears I got the wrong info. I'm still not sure who took the photo. I'm quite confused! My mistake, Tom.
Doesn't appear to the car at fault....rather the owner in this case..... CTV Toronto | News Video - Latest Toronto News Headlines, Breaking News and Live Reports
You MUST be kidding ! Who here hasn't filled up a car right to the top and used the wiper blade to remove a little excess gas off the paint. Everyone has done this ! IMO the car has a design flaw if it cannot handle a small overflow at the pumps.
What makes you think he didn't squeeze off after pulling the nozzle out...(and keep your mind out of the gutter....I recognize the double entendre...)? A bit premature to assume the car has a design flaw.
Same premature assumption to blame the owner who has most definitely owned a multitude of other cars. If you look at the video you can see he was simply wiping the paint off of gas film. How many possible drops of gas could have possibly been present. Assuming owner fault is more presumptuous than the new car with a desire flaw. Fuel fill up Service bulletin will be out in a few days
