Interesting re: your 458...

Did you spec your GT3 with Adaptive Sport Seat Plus or the Racing Seats?

 

Joe, out of curiosity, what seats did you go with? And whats the difference between the two fuel tank sizes?

Edit: I think I found it. 23.7 gal vs. 16.9 gal

 

18-way adaptive seats for everyday use.

I have racing seats in the RS and that's not something I'd use everyday!

 

18 way Adaptive and standard fuel tank. I also ordered the lift.

 

If the car is to be used regularly the racing seats are not ideal. The latter are too extreme and belong in an RS, IMO.

Bear in mind even the adaptive sports seats are securely bolstered so you fit snugly in there for cornering etc, and if you have an opportunity to spec the car, you (your passengers & the next owner) will appreciate the practicality & added adjustment the 18-way adaptive seats offer.

You can always tell the 18-way adaptive seats from the 6 switches on the outer side of the lower seat (middle seat below).

I agree. I have the the 18 way seats and they are more than supportive enough for spirited driving.

 

Mine is supposedly in production. I believe it to be 1 of a kind on the planet with PTS riviera blue, black headlights, black wheels and black washer nozzles, cxx riviera blue wheel pinstripes and riv blue air vent vanes. Yellow calipers and seat belts.

Will make a nice xmas present.

 

This looks good, but IMO is both impractical & unsafe.

I imagine swapping hoods back-and-forth might become a Royal Pain.

Consider that Porsche Ag says that the GT3 will accelerate to 60 in 3.3 secs 911 GT3 - All 911 Models - All Porsche Models - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, and so, before you can say GT3, you're driving a 475bhp road-going missile which no longer has the down-force it was designed to have. As the speeds increase above 60, it can only get more dangerous.

 

Agree....but like you, I prefer the wing.

It was just odd that the poster Vintage V12 commented on a GT3 without the wing (as I thought what are the chances of seeing that)....and then there it was on Autogespot....so I thought I would share the pic in case he was interested.

 

Yes & thanks for sharing, the car does look quite sleek like that, but I would worry to no end driving it.

I once posted some pics of a 3.8 RS in the RS thread with the wing removed and just the duck-tail remaining. I'd call that 'for looks only'.

Correct, Sapphire Blue Metallic, 1 of 5 standard metallic colors on offer, alongside the 4 standard non-metallic colors.

 

One thing I'd like to share with anyone who has an order that is not locked in yet: please consider the standard finish that Porsche Ag gives you with the 991 GT3.

To say the finish is a masterpiece of automotive art is an understatement, the results are a grey/bronze appliqué that makes the wheels look 'anodized', stunning in person. I tend to try and not mess with greatness, and I humbly think this finish is one of the best automotive finishes I have seen in recent times. It looks like the finish on a heavy duty weapon or turbine impeller of some sort, super-cool. When I saw the car at the Geneva Salon in 2013, I knew the white paint & new factory-finished wheels was the livery I wanted. Interestingly Porsche used the same livery for their Press car as featured in its literature and on the cover of the owner's manual, but I realized on getting the car that it is the finish on the wheels that makes it all work. That Porsche Ag captured lightning in a bottle with the design of these wheels as well (!) only helps the overall effect. It would not be wrong to say the wheel finish is one of the aesthetic features of the car I like the most, and I never tire of looking at them.

So, if you get the car in the wheel finish that Porsche Ag has perfected, I think you'll like it. Just a thought.

My order spec included PTS Riviera Blue as well... that until a short time later when I was told PTS was no longer available. Very Jealous!

 

These Pictures are driving me nuts, I cannot wait to get mine in February as it is a end of December build. Wonderful photos!

My last Pcar was a 997.2 C4S manual. This was before I went to the other side(Fcar). I have transitioned to my second Ferrari, a Scud, and I have no plans of selling it. I sometimes wish I did not trade it for my first ferrari but I think at that time I cannot afford it and I have no more garage space. I left my E60 M5 for family touring.
Now, I am itching to get into a 991 GT3.

I am not sure if it would compliment my cars, being they are both track cars(scud and GT3). I will not sell my scud, but I want another special car in my stable.

Anybody who owns both would you mind giving an opinion about the difference of both and if they are basically thesame cars?

Whilst other will be able to share their thoughts on a comparo on the Ferrari Scuderia, I just wanted to chime in that the 991 GT3 should not be labeled or considered to be just a "track car". Whilst it is undoubtedly a formidable track car, it is also an amazing road car, and certainly both. Another dual-purpose car from Porsche.

If you want to think "track car" then I the RS would be the one, and even it doubles up admirably for road duty.

I use mine as a road car and have no plans to put it on the track. Sure I may be talked on to the track some day, but having a track car wasn't even a factor when I bought it.

Either way, I think the 991 GT3 & Scuderia pairing would be awesome!
