Interesting "information" source? I haven't looked at Glen's registry since he locked it up. Is anyone else looking at it these days? He never seemed to update it back the. It was full of sketchy information at that time but it's all that was around as far as I know. I seem to remember several cars in there that got updated by the factory to receive a later dash as in S1 => S2? Perhaps other mechanical upgrades were made as well? So maybe it's those cars where there could be some controversy? Ironic because now the S1 is more coveted by some. I looked at (for purchase) a very early S1 that had the wind wing windows in the front and coiled spring lifts for the hatch but I didn't detect that rear slats had ever been fitted. That car ended up in Germany and I don't recall the cars #. I think those features must have exited the production line early as well? Now you can get much better slats reproduced for these cars though I think seeing them on anything other than a S1 would be weird no? Bob S.
Registry is a thing of the past and pretty outdated. I think only newbies may Google and refer to it. Experienced enthusiast source their info from Fchat VLG, and a few others places. Maybe there should be a Registry here on Fchat that can be maintained by members and owners.
Some Maserati fans have set up registries but you need a suitable website for that, this is a social website how would you do that on here?
Agree, here's an S3 with rear slats. This car was for sale at Gullwing in 2006. Attention: horrible picture! Image Unavailable, Please Login
For me the big difference between S1, S2 and S3 is the dash. Its difficult to put exact chassis numbers on it because most changes took place on production number and not chassis number. I've some pictures for #7533, which shows a car with an S2 dash. As a consequence I agree with the International Lamborghini Registry that #7533 is an early S2. The S1 registry on the International Lamborghini Registry contains all cars starting with chassis number 7. As already said the registry needs a serious update.
For sure there are different people onboard with more or more accurate information than what's posted on ILR. I'm tracing info on the vintage Lamborghini since 1997. Today I've pictures for around 500 different Espada's and a lot of mystery cars to identify. At this stage I've no intention to post everything online but no issue to share non-confidential info on specific chassis numbers or share with others who have the same passion.
HEY THAT'S MY PHOTO OF ESPADADOG! LOL! I wonder what ever happened to that car? Those aren't real ones either of course but the "thing" over the hatch window ... where did they find that?
Looks like it has all the early stuff. Nice color combo too! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
As I posted in another thread...... Espada driven by Willem Defoe in Auto Focus starring Greg Kinnear. In 2002. Very good movie imo. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Based on web pictures, this seems like a better deal for the money... Touring Garage AG | Lamborghini Espada S2 Coupé 1971
I have acompanied a friend of mine in CH and inspected it last year (lifted it) when it was still belonging to its previous owner... paint is faded, interior is dry & cracked, smoking a lot of oil, 2 weak cylinders and so on...
Guys I need to rebuild the distributors on my S3. Does anyone know the exact torque of the springs? Does anyone have the exact weight of a new counter weight or exact drawing for them? I think the springs are fairly common to many clocks, but need the exact torque for the twin. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Paul
I suggest contacting Colin Clarke. Pretty sure he knows this. Colin Clarke Engineering - classic Italian supercars - home
After the advance mechanism is rebuilt in one distributor I suggest your convert to Pertronix (a kit is available) or other similar system and do everything in one distributor (timing and advance) to leave the second one for spark distribution only to six of the twelve cylinders. Then you'll have a single, healthy mechanical advance mechanism calibrating all six cylinders. I'm pretty sure Colin is familiar with the Pertronix though they're not the only game in town. He's done it for a fellow with a Urraco who posts a lot over on the VLG. There is documentation about doing this for a single dizzy setup over on VLG but it's not really any different for the dual setup except for the second distributor cap, rotor and wires. Best of luck Paul. Bob S.
Would be nice if there was a youtube video of someone doing the Pertronix, step by step, to an early Lamborghini.
i have this catalog for sale anyone knows if it is for all espadas or only for S2 espada? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
globally for all, but there are some differences for the dash and electrical loop. The S3 has also the powersteering system and the parts references starts with another sequence. For instance the engine page you displayed has in the S3 similar page : group 8xxxxxx and group 180xxxx
