I liken it to Concorde, a timeless design that always looks modern

Seemingly a tricky item to locate but finally, thanks to a generous follower on another site, we have the correct 'horn' button. Now looking like possibly a shakedown on Friday.

    It is now 100% complete!

    CONGRATULATIONS!

It is, definitely, the most beautiful car I've ever seen in my entire life!

Thanks for your kind comments which I have to say is how I feel. How I wish it was finished, shakedown all being well on Friday and then new injectors hopefully next week and back to the dyno. Then the test. Full fat.

Any word on shakedown location? Looking forward to pictures and (hopefully) some video footage.

Looks like a gentle outing at Longcross with John Barker and an EVO photographer but no video this time. That will come at the test proper as I understand it. Slightly nervous moments hoping she goes as well as she looks.

Photos to follow, but just returned from the shakedown with John Barker,(handling engineer and test driver, former Editor and Co-founder, of EVO) currently working with Mike Cross at Jaguar, and to quote him: 'Feels like an F40, just more of everything!'. Hopefully the rest of the day went as well as I had to leave early. A relief!

John Barker's the real EVO tech guru. That's high praise from someone who's known for very few words! Congratulations!

I work at Longcross and the guys I work with told me there was a Ferrari over on the test track and I assumed it was your car, both cars looked stunning but your F40 sounded fantastic on the track.

Good job, I love it when cars are built to this standard and attention to detail.

    Vince.

    Hmmm...

A comparo? Seems a bit odd, as the Macca looks like a road version...

    But hey--who really cares, right??

The stock F1 road car does not have vents on the front arches, the F1 LM's vents are flat, but the F1 GT / GTR did have raised vents, which would make sense given the comparison.

    It's chassis #018.

Those vents are unique to that car and it's twin, chassis #073

Both have the High-downforce kit which many liken to the LM version and also has an LM-spec engine (so 660-680bhp) depending on whom you believe.

They are standard road cars though, not GTR's or LM's.

Damn do I have a massive amount of catching up to do. I think I was linked here on page like 70 or so. I recently got the pleasure of seeing 5 F40s in a day and it made me think of this thread.

That is correct as I had a chat with the testing crew, although they did not mention the engine being in a different state of tune. When I have the opportunity I will post some further pics of the day together with the engine bay, which was totally pristine. Car was just back from a service and Macca use Longcross for all their testing.

It was just a nice coincidence to find an F1 there as the GTR was the car my LM used to race against where it was actually quicker on some circuits, in particular Hockenheim where it apparently held, very briefly, the lap record.
