OK, this car and this guy. I think it'll be alright. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sitting a few Km from my house. That car has been in Dubai a few years now. Owner has a yellow P400 Miura as well as I recall. I have a pretty good idea what was paid to buy it when that car came to Dubai, but I am it sure if that fellow sold it to the current owner. Any idea what the price is now? The Dubai Countach owner's club is pretty small. Joe, do you ever find yourself in the neighbourhood? If so, drop me a line...
Just seeking clarification: are you saying the correct color designation is just "Verde Metallizzato" (without the "Rio") for this crashed LP400, for the LP400S 1121316, or for all Lamborghinis using this period color from the 60s to the early 80s?
Some kind of metallic blue, and as is often the case, not exactly faithful to the car's original color.
Difficult to say, but whan we can say without any doubts is that #1121316 is NOT painted in Verde Rio.
Not to change the subject, Nice Countach/ Miura article in the supercar issue of Car magazine,(Britain) fair description of both cars, never driven a Miura, but the Countach experience fits my car pretty close. Gents, enjoy your weekend , sw Florida Sunday weather forcast looks good, perhaps put some miles on my car.
Thanks, understood now. By the way, would you say this crashed Verde LP400 in the period color image we are discussing is the same car in the 2 well-known black & white pictures below taken by Peter Coltrin years ago? Take a look at the details. I think it is the same car moved inside the factory... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Same car. Now you know that I was right in post 18340... I said that we don't see a car with senape interior in the b/w photos...
... and the "convoy car" and the crashed car (in the b/w photos) are NOT the same car... the crashed car in the b/w photos is NOT 1120228
During a discussion of the Rod Stewart targa (on this thread?), I brought up this article and the son of the guy who won the car chimed in. Never heard from him again. I thought he was going to dig up some photos of the car, which was the same as the Stewart car.
