    Thought of that but....

No space between the nut and bracket to slip a washer in.
The nut is resting against the bracket and it wont tighten in nor back out...i want that nut tightened down hard...the bracket takes movement whenever the gas pedal is pressed as the bellcrank turns.

I'm sure i could drive her fine with the one good nut...but...not optimal.

Don't make me come over there! ;)

There's plenty of room for the "right tool". Here are a few choices that would easily fit. Insert it under the bracket (after loosening the other nut slightly). Tap it in lightly with a small hammer if necessary. If you're applying enough pressure upward on the nut, even a 1/4" drive 10mm socket on a ratchet with an extension (so you can get room to swing the ratchet) should easily do the job.

It is an awkward place to work, welcome to my freakin' world!

Admit it, you would rather have the problem to source properly foaming beer in the UK for bringing along ... ;)

    You're freakin me here.

Can u explain how moving the bracket up would help?
The bracket may move up but the xxxxxing nut won't.

If i pry the nut up somehow again with super force how

    1. Will i get the socket over the nut with the crow bar jamming the nut up
    2. Will this help the nut find a good thread to grab on to?

I tried to see if there is enough space to get a nut splitter on the nut without having to remove the bellcrank.

I can get a 14mm ring spanner around the nut...so a small sized splitter will fit.
    Thats a positive.

Don't have to dremel off the screw holding the crank to the bracket now.

Will wait for the nut splitter to arrive from freakin amazonian.
Get the nut off and see whst state that italian bolt's in.....better be good to very good...or this thread may go on for a while!

I am afraid that a nut splitter might not fit, since a splitter needs to be substantially thicker in circumference than a 14mm ring spanner ....

Edit: incorrect, I just looked at the photo again, there is soooo much space everywhere ....

Wedge the prybar in one of these places (after loosening the other nut). The prybar won't be in the way.

Sorry but it couldn't be easier.

    The foto is misleading.

There's a lot more free space with the left hand good nut than with the right side...the bellcrank is offset to the right.

But i ordered a small size splitter...up to 12mm ...it's gotta fit in there if a 14mm ring spanner fits?

No good option. No one will buy it with this nut being loose + unremovable ... ;) :D

I found the perfect mini pry bar and wedged it and pryed hard...put large extension on ratchet and 10mm socket but that nut will not back out nor tighten down.

I guess the stud is well stripped and the nut is not finding any thread to grip...

You cant spin the nut with your fingers...you need a socket to get it to turn but it wont tighten down hard against the bracket...if i well loosen the good nut then the car will not operate as the bad nut doesnt hold the bellcrank firm enough.

All that engine back there and it wont work cause of one 10mm nut!

That all depends on the perceived value of such a seriously flawed car.

Here's another suggestion, a variant of the previously mentioned modified (with a set screw) method: Get a needle-nosed Vice Grip pliers, grip the nut from the top and pull it upward while rotating it counter-clockwise. All you have to do is get it started, then it will screw off. Buy a new nut and stack some washers to clear the stripped part of the stud, and install the new nut.

Loosen the good nut to allow all your prying force to be applied to the stripped nut while unscrewing it at the same time.

    Did that

Had to undo the good nut to wedge the wedge behind the bracket.
    Wedged it from different positions.

    No go

I just looked up the parts list. These parts aren´t nuts, but snap fasteners ("bottone automatico")! So it is normal that they have a little backlash and can´t be screwed off ... All those prying hints will likely lead to irreversable damage to locking elements of the fasteners ...

    ;) ;) ;)

    Thinking ahead....

When i split the nut will it still be possible AFTER splitting one side of the nut to turn the nut with a socket or spanner so that I can split the opposite side of the nut?

I will have to turn the nut as I will have no room to place the splitter on the other side.
