the car in the factory museum is very interesting .. its not a challenge .. though the sign on it says so ... its the 355GTC theres a thread on here about it .....
I sort of see what you are saying .. I actually did it with a 360 spider ... NGT parts, engine maps, exhaust, seats etc etc ... but after spending alot of money .... I eventually realised its all the small modifications that make the difference .. the factory did them on purpose .. the big visible changes are easy .. the small ones .. very expensive and hard to apply. however i think we are on the same page 355 challeng .. very special ... and i am biased because there are only 18 RHD cars and only 3 full 98/99 factory full evolution cars only thing wrong with mine is I wish it was an F1 (there is only 1 F1 i believe)
OK thanks for all the info. guys. Now lets find a 95 355C that I can drive in the "mean" streets of NY !
Stephen, There were 20 or so 1995 F355 GTBs that were ordered and converted to Challenge cars by United States Ferrari dealerships for the North American Ferrari Challenge Series. I'm not sure how many of these cars have survived. I've only seen one other titled F355 Challenge but it was sold earlier this year. I've seen two other 1995 F355 Challenge cars which were originally titled but whose current owners would have to have retitled should they so desire. Neither are for sale. You can include 1995 cars which might not have current titles in your search. Once you find and drive one, I'm sure you'll see why its place is on our regional tracks at DE events. Barry
Thank you for posting that. The Ferrari Factory asked Classic Coach for detailed pictures of this F355 Challenge and for its spare decals. They recreated its late 1990s Tommy Hilfiger livery for that display... . Image Unavailable, Please Login
The one I posted is a 1995 F355 Challenge, here pictured with mine... . Image Unavailable, Please Login
The one in the factory is the gtc It's quite different ... The wing was originally further forward ... It's now like a challenge... But you can see the remnants of the mounting points on the rear deck Note the filled in section Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you .. You solved a mystery as to the decals on a car that I believed never left the factory ... So as suspected its a fake challenge hiding a 355 gt competizone !!! Anyway I was very proud that Ferrari felt the 355 challenge was an important enough car to have in their museum. The fact that they dug out something super special and dressed it up as a challenge speaks even greater volumes about how important the 355 challenge is in the history of modern Ferrari
Btw your car is looking very cool in the yellow... Mine is bit of a patcHwork can't decide what Color it is
I think your car's livery looks so cool! Mine looks the way it did when it was raced by Peter Sachs in 1995... . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine is in its final state as I bought it after it had raced in gt3 in Bahrain It was a leading car in 99 but looked very different Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's very noticeable now .. I can't decide which I prefer (Photo outside old TVR factory) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Barry, I see your 95 original factory 355C has a NJ plate on her. I'm not sure what your interior looks like (hint hint pics please) but that is what I'm looking for.
Nope. 98 won't do it. I'm aware of two 95 cars that are for sale, they just aren't what I'm looking for.
