Blankets are the best way to stop radiant heat to alternator, AC pump, ignition wires and motor mounts. I have had the Capristo blankets for 3 years on my headers with great decrease in radiant heat. I now have the Fabspeed blankets which are not as thick as the Capristo ones also work very well. If you saw them in person on a header, you would see why they work so well. Cost is the problem, but in the long run, they will save your engine compartment that gets incredibly hot.

I changed headers from Fabspeed to 4-2-1 headers from Bruce Wright. The have the bungs on each tube that Fabspeeds do not. The Capristo blankets were a better fit with these headers.
After 4 years of use with blankets, the headers were perfect. The Fabspeed blankets are working well with the new headers.
The Capristo blankets could be used on the space shuttle for re entry it works that well.
