That 355 interior looks almost just like a 430! The ad makes it sound as if it was specifically designed for the 355.

Sure looks like a JVC / Alpine / Kenwood / whatever with a screened "Ferrari" logo in the corner.

Flip up screens are just annoying beyond comprehension...but hey, that's just me :)

$15 increase in shipping for the rear view camera? uhmmmm OK.

Ha. You're right. This was the best picture quality I could get. It is a New Infotainment System for the 355, 360 and 430. The 360 and 430 need an additional assembly kit. So yes, it is model specific.

Huh. I didn't see that.... I too would like to know what they added.

If they had a connection to the OBDII port with live engine data on the screen, that would be cool.

I have a Clarion unit with a pop up screen in my 355. It just doesn't say Ferrari on it. It has blue tooth, nav, ipod, etc. The spot for the radio on our car is a DIN1 size and there are a ton of options for that that don't cost $1000.

    Just my 2 cents.

I am thinking of getting a 430 unit as I only use the ipod any way and hardly ever the screen.

What does a unit like that cost and can it be hooked up to a rear camera?

    Bob....

You're clock and oil preassure gauge are in the opposite spots of mine.
My clock is on the left and my oil temp gauge is on the right. My oil preassure gauge is between my Tach and Speedo on top of my temp gauge.

    What gives?? Am i crazy????

Petey...that pic isn't my car, it is a car I almost bought but I liked the head unit and installed the identical unit when I got mine.

You are absolutely right, in my car it is the reverse of that pic, as is yours.

I think that's an f1 car, they have the gear indicator in the dash so move the oil pressure to the center pod and lose the oil temp gauge.

No offense to the OP but why spend 1500$ on a unit like this when you can get it for 500$ + 26$ for a backup camera?

I know the little silkscreened logo isn't worth it so I guess it's all about the software. What will the Ferrari software give the end user as an added value that the Clarion stock unit doesn't have?

I bought my 1998 355F1 GTS new and have never turned the radio on. The six disc changer is extra weight in the front end.

I have been thinking of pulling the clock out, and installing an oil temp gauge for some time but I haven't gotten around to it.

The flip up screen covers the gauges in a 355. The design is not well suited for a 355 IMHO.

    x2!

I have seen a lot of awesome modern infotainment systems and also original Ferrari systems from other models that can be adapted to the 355, but the truth is I never turn the radio on. I'm not a tech guy, so anything that can muffle those priceless V8 screams isn't for me but I do reckon there are great new systems if that's your cup of tea. Flip up systems do cover the gages, but there's nothing you can do, it's the downside of being connected to the world while having a 355. I try to be as far apart from the world when I drive my 355, so that incoming business calls don't ruin my driving experience! :)

I still raise my eyebrow about modern systems being called Ferrari original designed specifically for the 355. Also interested in checking out that Ferrari original software they advertise.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

You don't have to have the screen up. I rarely have mine up. It is a trade off but it is very functional for what it does.

Totally agree. I installed an Alpine (no flip). I used it exactly one time - when I drive, I want to hear the car :)

The alpine has a usb so at least I can charge my phone with it.

I also will be installing an oil temp gage in place of clock - already bought the gage.
