One of our customers ( and good friend ) discovered this car back in the spring after he sold his 355 , ( he wanted to go back to a 348 ) and was supposed to buy this car , but he didnt , and i did mot ask him why he backed out , but i know this car has been for sale since the spring , it looks like an easy fix and a good price , so i have to question why . it is still for sale , my friend is from ny , it is possible he went to look at it and saw a reason not to purchase it . We were going to fix it for him , i told him from what i saw im the pictures i didnt see anything scary , he may have discovered something not visible in the pics, i will ask him and post his reason he didnt buy it

The car has been there much longer than this spring. I recall seeing it (online) at least back in the summer of 13'. I myself was somewhat interested in this car 6 months ago and talked with the sellers son a couple of times.

I don't know what the guy you knew saw, but one thing that stuck out to me was how the drivers side door window seems to be missaligned with the windshield pillar as compared to the passenger side. To me that means the hit tweaked a little bit more than what it first appears. That and once you start doing the math on the price of parts, putting the thing back together in the end what it's worth with the "history" issue...doesn't add up.

This thing can certainly be fixed, but spending anything over $15k on it as is will put one (with repairs) right in the price range of a non-title issuse car quickly.

Someone buy it for a part's car, offer 15K. If you can get the glass, Conv. top and any engine parts your not far off profit, that is unless the T-belt broke with the engine running

I agree with the price of parts , this car would be more tempting at 15 k .

The guy wouldn't take $15k when I offered, but maybe someone could get it now for that. My ultimate 348 would be a blk/tan spyder and would have been all over it had he been willing.

I think this guy is somewhat in the repairable/etc business, but it's always interesting how even the guys who are in the business pick these car up, get the parts and then realise they will soon be upside down on the car and try to move it as is.

For the right price and the right person this car can be saved.

I thought it was a great car when I came across it.

With regard to the window being misaligned - this may be just down to the bracket inside the door being broken. Mine was like this and you could put the window up higher than you should be able to so it looked like in the pics above.

A simple weld to repair the bracket sorted it.

I'm pretty sure I was trying to deal on this car about 2.5 years ago. At the time he also had a burnt out 348 that he was offering to package with it that had a clear title. He wasn't suggesting anyone do any shady things but... The option was there.

I just wanted to correct what I said here. This is the car and the guy I was dealing with but looking at my old emails it was exactly one year ago not 2.5. That must have been a different car. Here's a link from one of his e-mails with 40 pictures. Maybe it will help him sell it. http://mxpaintball.phpwebhosting.com/Cars/1994_Ferrari_348/

I'd definitely take it if he would go $15-16K, but I don't think he'll go that far. He has to realize I just bought a 91 TB with no damage ever and of course clean title for a few thousand more then his EBay price. They just are not worth that much right now.

Also he did respond to a post I put up here for a project car so he is/was a member here.

And the wheels are on backwards... which is probably what created the aerodynamic instabilities that caused the accident. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.
