Sorry to see the Dino leave, yours was a great color combo.
Why are (ex) Dino owners buying these????
.... wife and I are getting up early tomorrow to go for a drive in our 512TR so I should know the answer, rear engine V6 then rear engine V12....
    Congratulations!

Andrew, do you have both a Dino and the 512TR?

Seems like a totally different experience. What made you go that route? Lovely TR. Look forward to your updates.

Good move, sell the V6 at high price and buy a V12 at cheap price. There is no wiser move.

right, and in about 20 years the TR will be much more worth than now. but also then the dino is also much more.
the TR could be a daily driver and in this today traffic easier to handle than the dino

so congrat to your flat 12 :)

    congrats on the new car!

nice color on the dino btw.

re the tr being used as a daily....i tried it and it doesnt work that well. too wide, no power steering, too much attention.

Wow, your Dino is stunning in that color combo.

Seems strange to let a 246 go for a Testa, but maybe you wanted more of a GT car and maybe you wanted to release some cash.

I own a 512 TR and a Fiat Dino Spider ; I love both and they are very complimentary, with nothing in common other than an amazing ability to engage to driver and make an event of any drive. :)

i think one way that this works is that you buy a dino many years ago, keep it and restore it, enjoy it, then sell if for 4 times more.....pick up the next car that you like that is currently undervalued, rinse and repeat. ? maybe :)

Yes, will be a life long Dino GT owner, guilty as charged.
Very different driving experiences but always an event.
You should know the color you painted your Dino influenced me to search for a grigio metallizzato rear engined 512... thanks!

Thank him after you do a few engine outs, change a diff, and the other running nonesense costs for the Testarossa.

Thanks all for the congrats. Yes CD, love your 'Goodbye, Hello' theme. Glad you don't mind me keeping it going.

Wow, this car drives really nice. I was able to put a few more miles on it today. What a TORQUE monster! Polar opposite from the Dino in that respect. Very comfortable and easy to drive (although non power steering does come into play when parking) especially considering it really is one of the great Supercars of its time.
This car is a very presentable driver with 58,000 miles. Do I take the high milage award from this group? The nice thing about the mileage is that I won't blink an eye to drive it anywhere ... no matter what the distance. Perhaps a few OC to Monterey trips coming my way. It would be cool to hit 100,000!

The one thing I need ASAP is an exhaust. The TR currently has its stock exhaust and she is quiet. I know it has the potential to sound great. I don't want it obnoxious but I do wanna hear the music from that great motor. Any recommendations for a system that will still pass CA smog?

I bought a set of original Ferrari 512TR 18" wheels that will be going on soon too.

    All the best,

    Tom

Nice, TR's look great in black. The 512TR wheels will "make" the car, you do have the right spacers and lug bolts?. Don't get a Tubi, they are just too quiet IMO, I've had a few TR's with them and they left me underwhelmed. My current 512TR has a Fuchs exhaust and it sounds insane, highly recommend it. Good luck with the car, it will be fun!

GregTe, please clue me in to the right spacer and bolts! I'll check out the Fuchs. Did you consider Capristo at all?
