If you only plan to use the lift for one car, yes you can do that. But, be careful - you cannot do that with a Mohawk since when it hits the stops, it will see a pressure spike which makes it think there is a problem and then it will hydraulically lock.

    Thanks.

Drywall work is now done - ready for primer and paint (Tomorrow evening).

Yesterday morning the garage door was to be re-tracked to follow the roof slope. Guy came out late, had all the wrong parts and now it's 10 day out. I should have done it myself :(

I can't wait to see the finished project.
I have a slightly different issue....I am buying a house at the first of the year and will be building a 3, or 4 car garage on the back. I've been looking at designs and never even considered doing the garage door on an angle. That's awesome.
I'm getting some great ideas now. Thanks guys, and gals!!

Dave, I am using a Liftmaster side mount 8500? Is that what you intend to use?

Dave H., Marcus was asking me :)

Yes and no. Right now I'm not installing an operator - I've never had one on that door - it's always been manual - not F1 LOL

The yes part is, that's the one I plan to get if I do add the operator down the road.

I'm already over budget. My contractor buddy (who I let bill T&M), estimated 60 hours with paint and he came in at 91 without paint and a ton of my help :(

LOL, funny how its never on budget! My concrete guy talked me into doing the entire driveway in concrete and doing stone on the front of the new garage to match the house as opposed to full stucco which puts me over $8500!!!!! Oh well, it will look nice when finished.

That's why when someone works for me I always do firm fixed price. When I worked for them it was always cost plus fixed % fee.

I know, John - I am a dummy. The problem is, many contractors around here suck. I trust my buddy and he does great work. It has caused an issue though because i agreed to T&M with a cap but now he has forgotten the "cap discussion". I requested that we split the overrun and he lost his temper. I've paid him in full today and sent along a love letter :)

I won't be using him again.

Yeah, good one - I love that.

But, I can tell you in this case, it was a 3 man job (my buddy only has one guy). The job required 2 guys in the ceiling with another on the ground.

I've not worked that hard in years :)

    Needs more lights, but wow...
Sure beats my ghetto set up with no sheet rocks, bare studs, home-made cabinets, exposed wirings, and a dirty floor.

Was going to say, most paint booths don't have that many lights. Looks awesome, Dave!

Very very nice Dave....we have the 6 bulb T5 fixtures in our shop and they produce more than enough light.

Marcus, keep all 4. These 3 are only in my single bay, I have other lights in the garage besides these.

In fact my electrician needs to come back and run another circuit since we overloaded what I had...
