i had seen pics some where on the site of disassemble of the front flanged wheel bearings
i wish to replace the balls in the bearing and have it apart but but need to know how with out damaging it to reassemble it
    sounds dumb but
don't know if i need to remove inner race then reassemble in flange before installing on hub?

    thanks to all

Here's what the front bearing looks like (photo from Ricambi). I wasn't aware you could disassemble it, only that because it is a non-sealed bearing (unlike the rear) you can re-pack it. These are big $$ bearings...

On 83958 (1990) the bearing comes fully apart (with care) and can be repacked. There is a plastic (nylon?) retainer inside which holds the balls in their correct position.

I am unaware of how one might source replacement balls, but repacking is easy. If the balls need to be replaced, you can bet that a new race is required as well.

    Rgds,
    Vincenzo

Vincenzo, I was confused at first by your post--I thought you meant bearing PN 83958 but your reference is CAR # 83958, got it. The parts books show bearing 112799 was used on ALL Testarossa (but not 512TR or F512M) so they should all come apart for cleaning/repack as Vincenzo describes. Thanks for clearing this up. I know you can source ball bearings from many suppliers so Tommie when you do can you post the correct replacement diameter, vendor, and PN for future reference?

I've just done mine but that white nylon in the centre of the picture above looks nothing like my 88 five stud wheel car. My bearings came apart 100%, I repacked them after a thorough inspection and refitted them to the car.
