help! need a mechanic for my 308

    I am in need of someone im my area to finish wrenching on my 79 308 "carb" work, the shop that has my car now has had it for years and Im sick of being #@$%@*, I am in the central valley California area near Sacramento.

    Any recommendation out there,,,, please!!!!

    would perfer someone close by plus knows 308`s,,,,,

    umm.... i mean no disrespect but why the hell did you let them keep it for years!!!!!!! good luck to you. some of the regulars in the cali. scetion may be a great help. sorry, my jaw dropped when i read this!!!

    I agree - has the mechanic actually physically had the car for years??? I got antsy when my car is gone for more than a week.... I know some so cal mechanics, but none up north.

    Call Salerno Motorsports in Rocklin 916-652-0496. Ben Salerno is a top rate F-Car Mech. He has done all the work on mine and my father's cars....from 308's to TR's and 360's. He knows his stuff....he also does Porches and Lambos.

    yeah I know I sound like the idiot here! since we both have automotive businesses here in town and do work on some projects together it puts me in a bad spot, trying to find someone around here to work on it.
    so I take it! there are no good mechanics near me,
    atleast Im reminded here on how dumm I am.. thanks. hahaha

    Thanks jonny, I plan on taking my 348 there, but I heard he doesnt work on 308 carb cars.....is it true???

    I heard he does great work......

    well a couple of years ago i just needed carb work,ha ha, now it needs belts and top end service i guess. its been sitting along time

    Whoever told you that is waaaaay off. My current '78 has been in his capable hands many times. My father had a '77 and a '78 for years that were serviced by Ben. Call him...he will take care of you.
