That sounds highly optimistic. From my correspondence with mk e If you figure 17% drivetrain loss the mk e's bhp @8psi would be about 300/(1-.17)=360bhp Scaling down to 6psi would give ~285 rwhp, --> ~343 bhp

I totally agree with your selection of boost pressure of around 6PSI but I'm not sure of your estimate for HP... 6PSI of boost would be expected to give you around 340HP based on a 240HP engine. Is that 400 HP based on some additional engine mods? In any case, around 340 HP is, IMO, a perfect sweet spot because it adds a substantial amount of power without requiring any other modifications to the car. Going to the 400 HP range could compromise the current drivetrain, brakes, and cooling system. The typical "failure mode" for mods that overtax the drivetrain is: Clutch slips/is replaced with a stronger one. Clutch can now transmit full power so driveshafts/axles fail. Shafts/axles are beefed up so joints fail...etc etc etc. One way to avoid the need to beef up the drivetrain with a substantial HP increase, though it will not allow you to apply full power to the rear wheels in serious launches from a standing start is to use the stock-spec clutch. It is the cheapest part to replace and it acts as a "safety valve" for the rest of the drive train. Note that the above concerns apply typically when you go beyond roughly a 33% increase in power. Just about any car made can handle that increase with no other changes.
I've been talking to Mark, and Wade, about this, Mark suggest that if I go as low as 6psi there is no need for inter-cooling which simplifies the install. Mark was giving me the HP estimate based on the pulleys he supplied with the kit which produce 15psi and 450bhp and 380rwhp. These are the same amounts I had in my 2005 C6 Vette with 13 inch wide rear tires and traction control. Mark says it's very drivable but I'd rather have low 300s rwhp.

I pretty much agree with mike996. 6psi would give a very spirited driveable car, altho it significantly under utilizes the potential of that SC system. Would be pushing the stock clutch a bit.
Yes: I don't understand how 6psi even inter-cooled could produce 400bhp which with drivetrain losses would be about 330rwhp (ie: low 300s rwhp). OK, I guess I misread post 37. It must supercede our earlier post about 6psi & you're going with something slightly less than 15psi to get low 300s?
