You may also put 305/35/20 size Pirelli P zero on rears which has just 3,5 mm higher side wall. With the 245/35/20 front tires you would raise the front and the rear of the car equally.

I also like the design and the lightness of the Speciale wheels. I would have bought a set for myself from Scuderia System bargain sale if I could decide faster, in May; but I was late when I decided to buy gold color set.

Thats great, thanks for the update. Did you test it on Sport at speed? How does the tire look on the wheel? Would you mind sharing a pic of how it sits on the lip? Thx.

I getting ready to spec out my 2015 spider. I wanted the speciale wheels for the look but i don't want to cause any performance issue. I don't know much about tire and wheel size. If i kept the stock 458 tires on the speciale wheel, would that cause problems? Putting a different size tire on a different size wheel? Any help appreciated...Thanks

Front Speciale wheel width is too wide for 235 tires (9")
Rear Speciale wheel width is ok for 295 tires (11")

So if I were you, I would use Speciale size tires in front and 458 italia/spider size tires at the rear.

Since Pirelli doesnt make tires for the Speciale wheel, i would need to get Mich cup tires for the front and back. Do they make compatible tread/tires that would match the Mich cup tires for the italia/spider wheels in the back? thanks..

I had Speciale wheels fitted to mine from new back in March - bought from Scuderia. Bought a set of P Zeros 10mm wider than stock but same profile. Done 2500 miles with absolutely no issues.

Another question guys, with the Speciale tires does it matter if they are run on the colder days now? say 8-12 *C? I was told by one tire supplier that these tires actually start to self destruct with the colder temps. I find it hard to believe but may be.

Not sure what you mean. The Trofeo R which is Pirelli's tyre that competes with the Michelin Cup 2, is available in 245/35R20-305/30R20 which fits the Speciale, and they are also available in 235/35R20-295/35R20 which fit the Itaila and Spider. From what I understand, the Trofeo R is even a bit more track oriented than the Cup 2 tyres with a softer compound.

And no, Michelin does not make a Cup 2 tyre set that will match up on the 458 Italia and Spider. The closest you'll get, would be to run 245/35R20 front and 325/30R20 in the rear. With a size difference of "only" 3,25%, they will still be off 2,75% front to rear, compared to the original front to rear difference of 6%.

Thanks for the info. I was under the impression that the speciale wheel had an exclusive with Mich to make a tire to fit them. Its good to know Pirelli's can be fitted.

As long as the tyre will fit an 11x20" and 9x20" rim, it will fit a Speciale wheel set. The Italia and Spider tyre size will fit a set of Speciale wheels with no problem. There's nothing unique about the Speciale wheel that make it only work with the Michelin Cup 2 tyre.

Can I fit Michelin Cup 2 345/30R20 in the rear to fit onto a 458 italia?

On a wide enough aftermarket rim you probably can, but the OE Italia rims are nowhere near wide enough. A rim with a width of 11.5" or 12" would be needed. In this case, I'd contact HRE and see what they have to offer and say about what is needed for them to fit properly.
Note that increasing the rear tread patch by that much compared to a 245 front, will make the car handle noticeably different, i.e, it will push and under-steer more. Handling in the wet? I think the word you'd be looking for is, "interesting". That's one wide semi-slick tyre moving through water on the road surface.

Just to confirm, as my SA wheels will be here soon, OEM 458 tires will work without issue?

    TIA

Yes. Front tyres will fit rims ranging from 8"-9,5". Rear tyres will fit rims ranging from 10"-11,5".
