On Craigslist under cars is a 82 Mondial Coupe for $16,500 Portland City of Battleground so in Wash state Red with 60 K plus miles ....... Seems very reasonable to me, or a parts car ?
There is also an 82 Mondial 8 on Autotrader.com, in, I believe, NY, for $16,900. Black with a red interior, 56k miles. Ours is still in limbo in Miami, as brother Robert is getting it ready to ship..... whenever!!!
A $16,500 1982 Mondial should be complete, running, and needing minimal attention to be used regularly. The photos of that car suggest it has that potential and may be worth an additional look. The aftermarket wheels do suggest that one would not have the TRX expense with that car. I've seen this car before online, the wheels are what reminds me. IMO a car like this is completely savable for the right owner. A new owner who simply drops this car off (even at an indy shop) and says call me when it's done will be in a world of hurt and upside down early. But a hands on DIY'er who has been down this road before would be perfect for this car. I'd love to find a mondi cab in this condition and take a couple years to get it back "right" so it's enjoyable when I need 4 seats.
He dropped the price to $14,900 OBO IF I had the garage space would walk up to him with $12,000 ..... Maybe less.
It's also on Ebay right now with a Buy It Now price of $15,000 I believe. In that listing he mentions that it has some common window issues, sunroof does not open, shifter needs to be tightened, and door seals need to be replaced.
This Mondial is the one that used to be owned by Fchatter Manny. The red carpet on the floors and the tan carpet on the door is the giveaway. This one was on fire in the past. I'll find the thread
OK: Original thread of the car for sale -- http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/mondial/104185-selling-my-mondial-advice-sought.html My buddy Manny bought the car. Frankly, it was a real POS. Busted side grill, trim held on by hardware store screws, non-functional sunroof and AC, and a badly broken mount for the shifter. It did make it home to Dallas from the northeast, and then caught on fire when Manny removed another hardware-store screw holding down some carpet -- the screw went all the way into the gas tank! See http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/mondial/106502-1700-miles-mondial.html Fire story begins around post 240 or so. It's a great thread. The red carpet came from a salvage Mondial, but the tan on the door panels wasn't replaced. He had it a couple of years, and then it moved on. It sold at auction once in (I heard) the $6700 range, and then again in 2010 for around $12K (that auction can be found by VIN search). Doesn't look like a lot of change since then.

I wouldn't trust a burnt car, but I would buy it for parts. God isn't making more Mondials and as time goes by, Mondial owners will have a tougher time finding parts. Even if you buy it for its asking price, I believe you'd still make a profit selling bits and pieces of it. Kind regards, Nuno.
In all fairness it was only an interior fire, no mechanical or body damage. It was looked over well. There was some rust, and when it left here (08?) it was running well enough. I'm not sure the shifter problem was ever fixed. I don't think it's a part car. Just buyer be aware.
