Actually they have poured all new concrete parking on the north side of the Spoke.

Last time I pulled right in to an open spot there!

But, I have also had to park across Lamar to the west (well lit area, businesses closed at night) and leap across South Lamar between the speeding cars..

Either way...

What's the info on the Friday night FCA gathering at Camp Mabry.....Invite only or ???

 

I was really glad to see Radney get most of his guitars back in Nashville, that was QUITE a stash to lose!!!

Jesse Dayton does "Harris County Blues" about the night they pulled the door hinges off his F150, to get the Stratocaster......it headed South down Mexico way.....

 

He played Houston the other night, Valeria was there dancing with her husband. I missed the show working the Ebola Boom, at the CLOROX bottling plant.

Looks like demand has peaked, but I still say "buy and hold" on the stock shares....

As many of you know, in the past, we have had competing events during F-1 weekend. This is no longer the case and our Barbeque and Roundup is now the premier event for the FCA associated with F-1. Your social team has made a significant effort this year in that we have

sent invitations to Ferrari Clubs Worldwide. The purpose of this message is to ask for your personal support for the event, so, here is a special invitation just for you. We have lowered the price and added a half-price ticket for kids 12 and under, and now we are asking for your support.

We are hoping for 100 per cent participation from the Club. So, please come out, bring your Ferrari and have some fun. If for some reason you can't make it, please buy a ticket anyway, because we need your help. There is no need to RSVP to this message; when you go to the site and get your tickets, we will know that you are coming, so please give us your support. Many thanks! LWG.


FCA BARBEQUE AND ROUNDUP



Please join us for the third annual FERRARI CLUB OF AMERICA BARBEQUE AND ROUNDUP in concert with the U.S. Grand Prix. We shall gather at Camp Mabry on Halloween night, Friday, October 31st from 5:30 to 10 p.m.



The Theme of the Event this year is to Meet and Greet Ferrari Club Members From Around The World and Bring your Kids For an Evening of Fun. Invitations are being sent to Ferrari Clubs and Ferrari Owners Associations Worldwide.



The Event will Feature: Barbeque Dinner by Southside Market, the Oldest Barbeque Joint in Texas (Est 1882). Beer and Wine are included. There will be a Ferrari Coral (Ferraris on display) * The Texas Military Museum * Buffalo Soldiers * Horses * Buffalo Soldiers Campsite * Indian Artifacts * Rock and Roll.



Wear your Favorite Costume or Get a Mask at the Door! Come on out and Have Some Fun!!!

Can we buy at the door? Not sure I'm going to to get Austin soon enough as I won't leave DFW until at least 4:00. Traffic will likely suck. Are there going to be any Ferrari's there? Have to talk my teenager into attending and need to give him some incentive.

Tex, can kids go to the Broken Spoke? He's 16. And 6'5".

 

I was planning to head down there for one day on Friday but a friend of mine backed out. Not even sure if I can get a GA ticket just for practice, i was told you would have to buy all three days.

 

You can buy for all three days or just go to a scalper along the side of the road.

 

So, here's what I know...
Friday Night FCA Party
Friday night FCA event: yes, you can buy a ticket at the door -cash or check. Just confirmed this. They would like everyone to buy the ticket in advance on line so the caterer knows the head count. But purchase at the door ok. Ferraris will be on display, music, and BBQ.

Friday at the track
You can get a one day for Sunday only. Otherwise you have to buy a 3-day. I paid $149 for a 3 day general admission but just saw they were offering the same deal for $119 now (rats). Seats are available of course for more $ You have to buy parking separate unless you take one of the buses which are $7.50 roundtrip per day, 2 day minimum, so about $22 with fees for two days.

 

No problem, they are set up for the UT kids that are under 21, they will just keep an eye that they don't get a drink..

Texas Dram Shop actually allows for YOU to give him the dribk, but I am not speaking for Mr. and Mrs. White, they own it, they make the rules!!

You can smoke or drink anything in your pocket, in the back parking lot behind the stage..... They even paved the pot holes out of THAT!

The Ticket Office at COTA at the Grand Entry Plaza, is open every day.

AFAIK, they are selling single day to Walk Ups, any day of the event..

That is what I've done for the past 2 GPs. Friday and Saturday single day tickets from different sources.

Anyone that is in town be sure to hit a convenience store and grab an Austin American Statesman....F1 Racing Magazine, as last years, has a most excellent glossy insert well worth having!!

Included with the $1 newspaper.

Grab it while it's there, yesterday and today, I guess until they are expended.

Been jamming on the drums, went to Antone's Records for the "Texas Blues Bass" book on Keith Ferguson, grab an old Doug Sahm LP, resting now for a nap, while my friend takes his Burnese to the dog wash....

I thought I would give that a "pass" in favor of some rest.
