Yeah, that's awesome. Amazing what you can do nowadays. What's the black panel below the PFD on the left side? Autopilot?

Bendix FCS810. The last original piece on the plane. When it breaks, it's gone DCN90 to replace it.

Art I had the 750 in my MU2 when I sold it, it was one of the best most intuitive avionics out there. I loved it! That's a great panel. Have you considered the Garmin GDL-70 (I think that's the designation)Doppler radar? It's really good and worth the money...

Steve is a good guy, as are his crew. My Aerotronics panel is shown in post #220.

Nope. We don't get much in the way of t storms, so it wouldn't be that functional. On trips like that, I use the 501, which if 43k doesn't get me on top, I shouldn't be flying. The Baron, because it's so close to my home, is the quickest way to LA for me. So, I guess I'll keep it until I lose my medical, or if they change the rules, my driver's license.

Nice looking Mooney Jim. I owned one of the last M20F's produced from 1989-1997. Great airplane. Really miss the low DOC's!

You may find this hard to believe, but I've got lots more invested in this beauty than I'll ever get out of it... but maybe there's an interesting trade somewhere.

Built in 1959, she has been upgraded to a 180 HP Lycoming (about 125 hours since rebuild to factory new specs), constant speed prop with a fresh overhaul, IFR avionics including approach GPS, STOL kit, gap seals, Cleveland wheels and brakes, shoulder harnesses up front, mostly original interior, new headliner, nearly flawless paint with a design based on the original factory paint scheme... you get the idea.

The airframe is, underneath all the mods, a Cessna 175. That's essentially the same airframe as the 172 except bigger gas tanks and slightly higher gross weight. (The Cessna Hawk XP and 172RG were built on the 175 type certificate, by the way).

    Airplane is at Savannah, GA.

Not mine, but I'm very excited to have just joined a club with a DA40, DA20, 172SP, and 172P. I've never flown a glass panel, but I'm going to start transition training in the 172SP, next weekend. The club's G1000 checkout is about six hours, and as soon as I get that taken care of, I'm going to move into the DA20 then DA40. I cannot wait. I'm really looking forward to moving into the Diamonds, I love those aircraft.

    :D

The club's building and hangar are like a five star hotel, so that's nice too!

Not mine but I wish it was. There were only 3 of these ever made and this is #3. It looks like a new one and Summer Martell keeps it that way & flies it all over the place.
