Her story is quite interesting: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/05/automobiles/collectibles/05EGO.html?_r=0 Mike
The hypothetical is nice to think about, but the reality of the topic is that the Museo cars should be preserved as they were. Interestingly, a good client of mine read this thread and will be there next week to say something.
I have a few. Some from this year, and some from last year's Concours. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Love that! The faded pink Espada is cool in a retro kinda way. Looks truly from a different era. I'm trying to figure out whether that car looks more feminine or masculine. I think the former.
Some very historic Countach, picture taken in Japan by my friend Gilles. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dash on our former 1120110 as signed by Marcello Gandini some 12 years ago in Long Beach California. Image Unavailable, Please Login
this is a 1971 original factory press release for 41th Salone di Ginevra ...it is for the SV version of the miura BUT also for the LP500 countach! interesting to know the car is described as an "idea-car"...so it looks like they did not mentioned it as a production model but more of a show car at the very beginning Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have the English version of these Press releases by Etienne Cornil. Wallace told me the Countach remained a concept car till he took Stanzani to Sicily to watch the Targa Florio (likely 1972).
Wrecked 80-125k. In need of restoration, little more than that. Too vague a question. Please view the Countach value thread. The Anniversary thread maybe helpful too.
Maybe 2 years ago... 80-125 for one needing restoration? It would have to have animals living in it to sell for that now...
Here's a real Countach. RHD 1983 LP500S in Giallo/Bianco, as imaged at Goodwood's Breakfast Club this past Sunday. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
