Haven't done a PPI yet, but assuming that checks out can you guys give me a fair price on a private sale for a clean 6-spd 1995 F355 GTB? 30,000 miles 4 owners, no accidents Engine overhauled by private shop including belts, all valves (intake and exhaust) and guides, pistons, rings, sleeves, etc New cats Exhaust manifold overhauled Exhaust otherwise stock Good interior, no stickies, new dash leather
75k No risk of value guide issues on a clean car with all the major bits sorted. Unless its been tracked, the 50k.
I own one. I'd love it to be worth 300k. But I probably would not sell it anyway... I'm not sure about the "overhaul" descriptor. That causes me pause. But if Ferrari of Denver or another dealership did the "overhaul", I'd feel pretty good. I would prefer a '95 but with the valve guides done. Recent belt service (like a month old) or been a while. That affects price by about 2k per year since. I would say private party will sell a '95 B with 30,000 miles in GREAT condition fairly quickly at $60 to 65k all day long. That seems to be the going rate for normal colors. Red / tan adds $5k+ Robb Dealers have them at 70 or more.
Having sold one recently, I think that with 30k miles, 65 -70k sounds about right. However, as we all know, there's more to these cars than just valve guides. Replaced headers (Tubi for instance and not JIM stuff from "US manufactures") should be factored into consideration. Tire age, time since major, pedigree and of course, color all play a large role in determining value. Red will likely sell the easiest and as a result get the offers coming in. Unique colors can also bring buyers out of the woodwork. Black and yellow tend to be the most difficult colors to move IMHO. (Nothing against those Robb and Dave!).
Value are a broad range, say $30-$80k. Lower mile cars usually bring the most assuming they are pristine examples. Honestly, we don't have enough information on the car to provide a valuation. Too many variables.
No offense taken but you are dreaming again Color is so subjective.... Your old white GTS is beautiful but many people don't like white. For me, all black interiors are a huge turn off - no contrast. But, Rosso Corsa / beige is clearly the most desired combination.
I agree with you about solid color interiors. I always wanted to figure a way to add contrast to my interior, but never did because I wanted to keep it original. I also agree that not everyone likes white, but with only 2 in the US, if only a few people do want it, it drives the price up. Same thing goes for other unique colors.
You're being argumentative. Imagine that... Take a look at IMTIMD8s latest search. He specifically says he's looking for a unique color. A lot of people want less traditional colors.
Mine is a 95 rosss barchetta with headers tubi + lots of other mechanicsl fixes along the way. Wouldnt sell it for a penny less than 75k. These cars are rock solid once the major issues have been fixed and a absolute steal For 70k+.
Yes. I agree. Once major issues are addressed, they run like an industrial sewing machine. Unstoppable. Good to know that the actual owners aren't in a hurry to sell their cars... Mine isn't going anywhere. Just bought another. Robb
Asta. I would need more info before giving an opinion but if for some reason you decide against it please send me the contact info
There unfortunately is no one single "perfect number" as each car is different and each buyer has different values and "must have's". That is why most are giving you a range. But you have a good group here that all have something to add to the discussion. So incorporate all the comments and party on. Robb
Interesting to see what the market is doing. As a data point, today, I bought a 2 owner 2002 6spd Modena with 17k miles and no stories for less than many of the pricing suggestions here for a friend. Flying to pick it up tomorrow. It's nice to see that good GTBs can bring more than Modenas.
360's just don't do it for me (looks wise). But when I see a 355 I feel like Clarkson. "I have to have one, I have to!" Same thing with 550's. Great looking car with a nicer interior but then listen to both. That V12 isn't a bad sound but isn't that shredding howl of a 355 either.
Throw the right exhaust and straight pipes on a 550 and you will be suitably impressed however, 355 sounds are what wet dreams are made of.
If you look at cars of comparable quality I think you will find that the Modena is still considerably more.
