Great to hear that you have your car back and are enjoying it once again. Looking forward to hearing about what work you had done to bring it to this new level of driving pleasure.

And when can we expect a thread with more of this digression? I was there...under your car, and witnessed the evidence of complete ineptitude that was heaped on your car by Bradan. "Criminal" was the word that was constantly repeated along with "WTF?!?!"

That story needs to be told, Ted.

The highways and byways of North Carolina are forever improved with you and the Mondial here.

I suppose the Pinzgauer will now be relegated to a Halloween prop?

Beautiful yard. I want to do something like that for my kids. Big sandy play area with a small splash pad.

Congrats on getting your car back BTW..

Thank you on both points. The dirt area is the outline of the incoming pool. I cleared it and put in grass on the sides so my kids would have a place to play in the meantime, I'm kinda working in reverse, waiting on them to get old enough for a pool (they're 4). But alas the time has come and we are throwing a Halloween party to celebrate the coming of the backhoe and concrete trucks the very next day

If it will stop raining, here's the incoming dance floor / basketball court lol

My turn to visit Dave this week! Weather temperature expected to drop about 50 degrees there.

The Mondial is being prepped for another 30-year run. As I mentioned previously, I told him to "Fix it like it's yours!"

So, will we ever get the lowdown on Dave's findings regarding Ted's car?

In 2+ years of a being a shop rat at Dave's place, I've heard this said a dozen times. And a dozen times the originator starts whining about money after said request is followed through.

    Don't be "that guy".

Apparently not. I know the story as I saw the carnage first hand. It's quite pathetic. Is what's even more pathetic is that if Ted was to post up the evidence, you'd have a bunch of idiots come to Bradan's defense. What was done to Ted's car is indefensable. (is that a word?)

Futureman, I will continue to be "this guy" instead of (your) "that guy!"

I tend to pay BEFORE he turns a wrench - that helps "me and him" know how absolutely valuable his expertise is to this guy!!

As you know - "he's a Wizard if ever a wizard there was!"

Saw the shop today for first time: impressive and CLEAN. We mapped-out sequence of work and brainstormed a bit.

Can't praise his operation enough. J

I think it goes with the phrase "your eyes are bigger than your stomach". People say, "make it like new". I sometimes think with these cars, the most economical way to do that is to build a time machine and go back and buy one when it WAS new. When the simplest of parts are NLA on these cars, it can get expensive in a hurry and people get sticker shock.

Congrats Ted. I wished I could have pulled the trigger [again] to have sorted out someone else's mess, but done with all for awhile. Look fwd to seeing you drive that puppy about.

Congrats on sticking it out to see it to the correct end. yet another one saved.

Futureman is correct. I too saw the carnage on a consistent basis over a three month period. Pathetic, TRULY pathetic.

But I am also very happy that another one is back on the road "fixed" as it should have been in the first place.

With all due respect, I would love to know about the carnage. I believe it was bad, but I, along with many others are probably wondering, how bad could it be? How could I sponsored shop, who restores half-a-million dollar cars on this forum screw up a Mondial so bad?

Ted hasn't posted on fchat in a while. Probably too busy enjoying his Ferrari for the first time in a long time. I'm sure once Polar Vortex II engulfs the entire nation, he'll be back here to chime in.

Meh. No polar vortex for Ted on the NC coast! Well, maybe... if you consider 40dF to be cold.

    Hi gang,

Trust me on this - - - - Ted isn't sleeping on a fat couch as regards this "service" issue.
You know the term "getting all the ducks in a row" ? Well, there are so many ducks that need to be wrangled, you have no idea !

From day one, this has never been a walk in the park. True justice takes time. It will all be revealed - when all the ducks quack in unison.

    FORZA Ted,

    Hank

And why exactly is this anyone's business besides Ted and the shop in question? Any wrongs can be righted through negotiation or legal means. Hate to say it but you guys sound like a lynch mob. That's what is truly pathetic.

Ted actually started this thread with his intentions clearly defined. It's his business, but he did invite us to all to come on over and stick our noses in it.
