I thought that and wouldn't mind loaning them out.

At first I thought having the two bolt together in a few areas may be enough to depress the panel but then you could have uneven tightening or warping. (or it may just be fine if care is taken)

I'm thinking it might be best (if you were trying to do this with the fenders on the car) to have a stencil for holes to drill that would also accept alignment pins for the male/female dies.

I'm thinking you could attach or machine in a cylinder on the male die and a piston on the female die. Hydraulically actuate the two, maybe even by injecting grease under the piston.

I'll have to think about this some more.

    That sounds like a possibility.
We have a machine shop at work also.....let me know if I can be of assistance.

I will be very impressed if this can be done without harming the paint

    Yes paint would be destroyed.

Actually I would bring the area to be embossed and 1/2 or so surrounding to bare metal before proceeding

    Eric,

Doesn't your 355 have factory shields?

I thought I saw a photo with that being the case.

    To the group:

What year's were factory shields (with indents) an available option?

You are right, it can't be done without respraying the fenders. There is a shop here in Toronto that does it all the time. I think he is charging around 4gs to do both fenders. He takes them off , stamps them, resprays and puts on the factory shields and the job comes out perfect.

I believe the Yoshi's have been discontinued and are no longer available. You might try ProSport or Superperformance. They might have a few left. However, they were pretty pricy. When I got mine last year, they were $375 a pair.

Our bolt together s worked OK, took a little effort when you torqued them down half the time it would distort the panel. Really needed 3 sets of hands to do perfect
A set that would fit in a press would be far superior to bolts

It sure does! If I were to do shields that's the way I'd want it.

Dave 1 die would do both sides would it not.
I believe Tim said he had two and they were split for some reason. I would think. The hardest part would be to do the compound curves and get them perfect.
