Multiple sources, folks at Capristo and my engineer friend at ferrari. I only have a baseline dyno w just the exhaust and gruppeM intake and that's already 1 dyno more than most people who even mod their cars have The company emailed me actual dyno charts on past scuds they've done prior so I'm good w taking their word for it w/o doing another baseline. Plus our cars are NA the gains won't be dramatic as on a forced induction motor, it's really more about just managing proper airflow/combustion and preventing any errors like cel. Similar to other ecu tunes and even the oem ecu, it's adaptive. It has preset parameters which are benchmarked off how the car is driven ie it learns from how you drive.
freshmeat what brand are the manifold and sport cats? Fabspeed? did you buy the capristo blankets separetely? do you feel power and torque improvements after fitting them with the tune? Would be cool to see some pictures of the parts fitted
Just installed the Capristo headers today with my S-Line X-Pipes and its... AMAZING!!!!! Love the sound and also big improvements on the power! Better power band from low to top end... Thanks to the ones who told me to get them!
Did you get to dyno? Be sure to get the blankets as well. Post up a sound clip. I hope it sounds like this http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xfa1/t50.2886-16/10595138_1458601097735936_330776564_n.mp4
yup I got the blankets... nice sound! yeah similar to that but I have stock cats now, yours I think are the 100cel cats right? The tuning company didn't email me back regarding the tune so I can't get the 100cel cats :-(
freshmeat: Thanks that sound clip must be the best ever soundtrack on a scud or any f car on par with CS. Question : is it just an s-line or added Capristo headers and aftermarket hi-flo cats? Would love to get this sound on my scud!
Darth, Did you also get an ECU tune to go with it? Any CELs? How much louder is it with the Capristo headers (could you quantify it in percentage terms)? Any drone sounds?
1. Nope didnt get the ecu tune yet since zeusflash and a shop who's a dealer are not replying my emails... 2. no CELs on the headers and exhaust, im still using the oem cats. 3. I would say about 30% more, and no drone. Higher pitch and faster revs thats for sure! Better power on low and top end, more responsive Its a must for any scud! Really worth it
i did a few pulls with a few 458s. we only went up to 140ish and i pulled ahead. one had a full f1 ipe system. i can't tell you how far ahead because my eyes were too trained on my shift leds lol.
Is it better if I put thermal heat wrap on the S-line X pipes? I noticed the ceramic coating is fading in time and its just a couple of months since I installed them... really looks ugly imho. ANyone here tried it??
Now I got bored on my exhaust setup and got 200cell sport cats, also with the Zeus ecu/tcu tune! Hoping to get that "F1" sound... the S-line pipes and headers are just not enough for me. It needs a little more, I think a pair of high flow cat and tune will do the work!
That should not be happening. What kind of coating did they use? I've used Thermo-tec wraps before without issue. They are not the most attractive though.
If you just need "a little more" out of Scud, you may not be able to win this race ; ) JK - enjoy the changes, I'm sure it will be awesome.
I got the ceramic coated pipes of S-line... really bad, not even 50miles of use and the ceramic started to peel off and have the "rusty" look. Told Dave about this and also about the bolts, he told me that he's gonna send new bolts but never arrived. But still I really like the exhaust so I just got a heat wrap from Japan called Juran, for me its better than Thermo-Tec. The purpose is the same but I guess better material. Now you won't notice the rusty look anymore and the heat around the exhaust area lessen a lot!
