Color and age poll (fixed)

In keeping with the poll on what color you would order if buying today I though it might be interesting to see how color correlates with age when you bought your first F car.

 

29 years old, Mondial 3.2 convertible rosso corsa was my first Ferrari.

1st = 42 and Nero
2nd = 44 and Rosso Corsa

Cars and color had no relation to my age. I wanted a 355 since I first saw one in LA (2000)

 

38, Hyperion

 

had my first in 1994 an 89 yellow 328GTS when i was 30

 

After I set this up I realized I should have allowed for multiple answers for multiple car owners and not just you 1st F car. "How old when and what color".

308, under 40, red,

355, over 50, blue.

But I think it will still show if there is any correlation between age and color.

 

How many older guys have trophy wives? I'm sure plenty of older guys buy Red Ferrari's for similar reasons

I don't buy solely on color. There are about 5 to 6 colors that I like in general. Any of these would have been fine as long as the condition and mileage were good. My car just happened to be red. Purchased at 48. I would have been just as happy with black, dark blue, silver, or gray.

 

I was 28 and gave my right nut to get a fly yellow F355B,13 years ago.

 

I'm happy to say, I was able to get my right nut back!!5 years later. Hahaha!

 

34 - Red 1982 Mondial 8
51 - Black 1988 Mondial 3.2
54 - Black 1990 348 ts

In addition, since 1989, every vehicle that I've bought has been black (4 cars, 1 truck, 2 Jeeps and 3 motorcycles). Boats not included. ��

I was 31 when I bought my red 99 GTS 5 years ago. Like the Berlinetta I'm buying now, red wasn't what I was specifically seeking, just happened to be the right car otherwise.

Picked my first F car at 48 - TDF Blue. Looking forward to another.

 

I would find checking over 40 and red to imply a misleading answer. While that would be correct with regards to a Ferrari, it's incomplete. I've driven red sports cars continously since getting a license at 16 (now 63) because I like driving and working on them, no other reason, and red is my favorite color, also none of the other often presumed reasons.

Suddenly, when I got to about 45, people would look at my car and say "Oh, mid-life crisis time?" Nothing in my life stye changed at all, only peoples perception of it. Any body else experience that phenomenom?

348 Spider red over tan, black top/tonneau. I was 47.

 

Stay with the car. It's cheaper in the long run.
