It has been a cheery place in the 348 / 355 section lately. Lots of good posts. Lots of great photos. LOTS of new owners with new cars. And yes even some NEW things. We haven't had timing belt arguments, and the only real thing that has been contentious has been over what cars are worth or will be worth... Which will always get everyone into trouble. It's the internet and anything can and does happen. I started a thread about us all trying to be on our best behavior and to leave the personal *****ing and infighting at the door. Seems like everyone has been pausing, thinking, and putting their best foot forward. And then for some reason I violated my own request with a barb thrown out at FatBillyBob (Carl) about something that didn't even matter. My comment or question wasn't really needed or beneficial. So I wanted to issue a public apology to him. He's obviously a resource in the mechanical and racing world here and had 550 posts that I read when searching for my current car, and reading help for Ernie and his early issues with his 348. Hopefully I will learn something from him and vice versa. So I'll work hard to be informative and helpful although I do not have a mechanical background. The 355 will help me learn fast. I'll be less sensitive to my own perceptions on the forum and more open to good, differing opinions. I'd prefer this to be the ONE and ONLY post in this thread. I don't need any other thoughts on the matter or for anything else negative to occur because of this. Life is short. Thanks. Robb
Robb, although you requested no other posts, I must say that I respect the hell out of you for this....people say things they don't mean all the time, but not everyone "man's up " afterwards.....it takes a real man to do what you did here.
Wow, someone actually apologizes when they make a mistake, there's a refreshing idea...many people here (high-up people) could learn from you. Good for you!
I've had the pleasure to have dinner with Robb in LA 2 years ago and we've been friends since we both began our 355 search. He's good people and a class act.
Robb, I've know FBB for years and believe me there is no one with a thicker hide than he. Or is that blubber. Whatever. He never even heard the jibe. It's great that you wish to atone, but I am sure he would be the first to say "it's nothing, man". Between chicken wings, of course.
Well done!! We all make mistakes. It is so easy to send out a chastising message knowing you will probably never see that person. Once you hit send, there is no taking it back. They are simply a name and maybe an avatar. But taking the time to publicly announce your mistake speaks to the caliber of person YOU are!! Most wouldn't do that. I lift a glass and toast you! You are aces in my book!
