Yet at least ninety percent of the comments on these threads center on the drivers. Not sure what sense that makes.
+1 I love Alonso and I'm happy for him to go to a team with a better chance of making a car worthy his talent.
I love Alonso to, I wish he would have won at least one wdc with Ferrari. I just don't think McLaren is gonna be that much better than Ferrari next year.
It doesnt as drivers are only able to do so much given the lack of testing etc. As you posted its more the car and has been for sometime. We see drivers scheming to move to the 'better' car dont we.
I am also happy for him to go to an other team but not necessarily because I love him I just tink it is funny how people were offended when someone posted that he might have a lack of motivation in the second half of last year just to find out that he was already thinking of leaving back then what most here absolutely denied...And all these comments "how can Ferrari let him go?" make no sense when he obviously does not want to stay! And this "I am a Ferrari supporter" is just another empty phrase or how does that look like while driving for another team?
Yep; life is full of small surprises. Last year in Hungary, some people reported that Luca blew a fuse when Alonso was asked what he wanted as a present for his anniversary and Fernando answered by showing the Red Bull and said: "this". Some then said that he was tired of driving uncompetitive Ferraris, some others speculated that he was trying to motivate, or sting, the team... It now turns out that he was indeed tired and begining to think to other pastures...and when they signed Kimi back, it was actually as an "insurance" (it doesn't turned out to be exactly that, does it, considering his results) against Fernando leaving... But it is always easy to know afterwards... Rgds
One reason that asking Alonso if he'd want Button as a teammate was so awkward is that Alonso is well known for not wanting a competitive teammate. So even saying "yes" would be an awkward answer.
My loyalty is first to a driver and second to a team. I hate RB and love Seb so that will be a great combo to root for
I feel about the same, so no arguing about that. I am not a particular RB fan either and as said I kind of like Vettel as a person so Ferrari and Vettel works perfect for me...I just can not stand Alonso personally (he is actually the only driver I am negative about in F1) but this is just my opinion and certainly must not be shared.
No, those are race shops with a history. Just like Williams and Sauber today. I like F1 teams, which are either car manufacturers or racing shops with a history. Mateschitz isn't a racer but a businessman who was looking for platform to peddle his drinks. If the Admiral's cup had more exposure than F1, he would have bought a team there and never gone to F1. That's different from a Ken Tyrrel, a Peter Sauber or a Frank Williams.
