    Talking about the old Perma-Tune spark box, the pickup is indeed a Mopar unit as you posted. It's a funny mix, i wonder why the previous workshop did not go for a HEI ignition module in combination with the Mopar pickup, as in the Marelli AEI200 setup the factory used later in.

    I looked through the photos again and I was mistaken, that is a Perma-Tune box as you state...

    Not sure why they chose these components. I guess it's what they had available.

    I use the Mopar trigger on my hot rods. fine unit. But had some problems with using the
    Mopar unit with GM HEI. The replacement modules are not up to the original Delco units. An ignition specialist told me the Mopar unit generates a lower trigger signal than the GM HEI trigger unit. Thus the problems I had with the Mopar/GM unit. I switched to a Mopar/mopar unit had had zreo problems with over 6000 miles this past year. FBO ignition in Oregon has an improved Mopar module with potted epoxy,no ballast resistor and built in adjustable rev-limiter.
