So what did you want him to say: 'Alonso is a better driver than Vettel, but he was our only choice'? And then he'd be an ***** for the welcoming of the new driver. It's call PR, and has always and will always be that way. In this case, I don't agree Alonso is a better driver than Vettel, but even if he was, the new driver will always be greeted with the shown enthusiasm. If a driver take that personally, like Alonso, he's in the wrong business. And has the maturity of a high-schooler. He wasn't 'disrespectful' at all. If you want to find offense with ANY sentence, you'll find it . Very few drivers have had the relationship and chemistry with their bosses and team like Vettel, so the PR twist was actually very little.
I think a car salesman doesn't have what it takes for a top job in F1. However, so does a ciggie person. We need stability, and someone that can really thrive forward.

This was an effort to support a losing proposition. I don't think it was as bad as everyone says but still don't think it was good.

I thought for sure he was being prepped for the Ferrari president role and was placed in the Scuderia for racing credibility but it reads as if he is out completely. Gone is LDM after 26 years, possibly gone is the former FNA president, Ferrari's largest market after 15 years. Yep, nothing standing in Sergio's way to do whatever he has planned it seems.
