That's another Is-ism - Kid Index is Vettel, named for his extremely annoying displays of his index finger over the course of several years.
They did didn't they ? A good year of racing for a change except for the wrong team winning and the wrong driver. I'm not going to the Aussie GP, no sound = no go
Thanks guys. Just a thought: I get pretty exasperated with all the varied nicknames for drivers and even initials for nicknames that only seem to exist in the microcosm of our F1 section and nowhere else. I can't keep up with them all, so haven't a clue what people are taking about when they're used, and if they're excluding me (someone who browses the F1 forum a fair amount) from the conversation then it's likely excluding others too. All the best, Andrew.
Anyone else glad this season is over? boring race -too bad for Rosberg, but even if not a sick car Hamilton ran and hid.
Maybe we should make a FAQ sticky with all the nicknames and acronyms. Here are some of the ones I know, please feel free to add to the list. Fernando Alonso - Nando, Caterpillars, Fonso, Fred, El Nano, Teflonso Kimi Raikkonen - Iceman, Flying Finn Jenson Button - JB, Jenny Lewis Hamilton - Hambone Pastor Maldonado - LOLdonado, Crashtor, Reverend Sergio Perez - Checo Sebastian Vettel - KI, Kid Index Nico Rosberg - Britney Valtteri Bottas - Boots, Flying Finn

I am no Hammy fan. But, all season long I got the feeling he was the best driver. Nico needed mechanical failures from Lewis and a host of other issues to be close. I wanted Nico to win, but before I even watched the race today, I knew that Mr. Schizerger would rise to the occasion--because he is a really talented driver who usually performs his best in very tough situations. I don't like Hammy, but I respect him. And the best driver won.
The double points made me more interested in the race, but in the end it was like penny slots. Yeah, there are a bunch more mathematical possibilities, but ultimately your odds are still the same. Glad to see Hami win it the way he did -- driving for first (not that it mattered much after the first lap). Glad to see another piece of F1 history written in stone. Not thrilled with the racing, though. Very much looking forward to next season.
+2 We have rolling blackouts back on our side, so I only got to see the first half of the race and used the remaining ice to keep the Whiskey temperatures at bay the rest of the day : ) So it turned out to be a decent season closure.
Exactly. We're talking about a tenth a second orso being of the pace. Unbelievable. Good to hear. Lets hope more people think like you and the grandstands are empty at all venues next year. Then the engine rules will change and noise restored. Rolling black outs in cape town...Botswana must've had no lights at all over the weekend then! Glad I'm gone.
A tenth off pace every lap is a big margin at the end. Thats 1 second every 10 laps. But the gap was bigger than that after only the first 5 laps. Its usually constant because the drivers pace themselves. Anyways... Well done Lewis. Best driver on the grid with Alonso imo. Rosberg can have the pole trophy, the real champion was crowned yesterday. Just imagine what the season would have looked like if the Mercedes didnt catch fire or have a brake explode or a messed up spark plug wire.
To some this is a great season but to me it's dull and lack of excitement even hamilton vs rosberg felt dull to me, probably because they are in the same team and merc is way too ahead of everyone else and i got bored. Some good racing but this is at the back of the grid, the regulation changes clearly favor only one team who spend more time and money develop the car. Nothing to remember from this season and i think next season would be the same as well.

Der, that is what every year is like. Why do you think RedBull won for 4 years on the trott and Ferrari before that. The team that has the smartest and well funded engineers wins, simple as that. Pete
Presumable like 2013 with Vettel Hamilton was certainly the better of the two Mercedes drivers at the end but how does one want to compare him with the others who had no Mercedes to win with. Everybody mentioned Hamiltons race craft and the ability to overtake although there was not much to overtake for him...Same for race craft and overtaking ablities could be easily said about Ricciardo this season so why was Hamilton necessarily better than Ricciardo f.e.? This is not against Hamilton as he did exactly what he needed to do but I still do not get it why this is all so exceptional this year and when Vettel did it in previous years it was nothing but the car? This forums seems to have double standards...
For me the driver of the year is Ricciardo. Fearless with an amazing over-take talent. Certainly he is with FA and LH on over takes in terms equality. If only Red Bull could get a Mercedes quality machine for him to go up front with LH and others. With his personality currently my favorite driver and in terms of race craft this year he appears to be on level with the best. No question.
