Hi All, I would like to introduce myself and show you a couple photos of our new '85 Euro 308 GTS QV. My name is Franny Brodigan and a couple weeks ago we were super lucky to find this car from a private seller referred by a friend. We had the car looked over by the local dealer and it looks like it is a good car originally imported by Harry Yeaggy. He actually bought the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 used by James Bond in Goldfinger, Tomorrow Never Dies" and Casino Royale. The first time it shows up registered is in 1997 when the service records start and had a couple owners since then until the gentleman we bought the car from. It had a full 30K service (belts and such) about a year and a half ago so that is a plus. Overall the car is in good shape. The interior will need a little love, but not too bad. The car is running better now that it has 1/2 tank of gas through it. I think it was out only twice in the past year or so. This is my first Ferrari. We have an '86 Carrera and this is actually pretty different I have only driven the car a bit as our weather changed pretty fast here in Colorado, but I'll have the winter to get to all the little projects to bring the car into a nice driver. I'm sure I'll have a few questions for you guys and am looking forward to learning lots about the car. There is a great community here. Hotzos has been super great from when we met at the Automezzi show. He spent his whole Saturday helping me wash out the engine bay and change the oil and has become a good friend. Thanks to Andy at FOD for his help and connections too. Thanks! Franny Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gorgeous car! Congratulations, and welcome to the forum - and to the Euro QV community! (I have an 84 Euro GTS QV) Cheers, Gordon
Hey Franny -- Welcome to a great community. Your car is pretty nice. It was just a little neglected -- under your stewardship, it will be one incredible machine. (And, i have already learned a bunch from you.) Here is pic of Franny's 85 Euro QV and my 83 US QV. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Big congrats! Looks like a great car. Hope your weather turns for the better. She will run better the more you drive her.
Welcome! Great looking QV. Andy is a great guy and a great resource over at FOD. I actually need to get our '84 to him for its winter look-over, but the weather is looking so great this coming week, I'd rather drive the car. If anyone wants to meet up for a drive Friday or Saturday, please let me know.
Congrats Franny! Now you can make plan on going to Monterey, CA for the Concorso Italiano where Ferrari will be the marquee this year. Looks like you have one healthy 308 QV. 308 is like no other car but you'll experience that soon enough.
Thanks everyone! The car will get lots of love and will have some nice company in the garage - even if she has to learn a little German It really is very different - very smooth and refined. The sound is very different with the whine of the transfer gear. Very different view over the bonnet as well. Thanks again, Franny
Congrats, beautiful car! We share the same taste in cars: I also have both a 308 QV GTS (1985) as well as a Carrera 3.2 (1987). I drove both back to back yesterday and it never ceases to amaze me how different and uniquely wonderful each car is, each in their own very different style. Enjoy both and welcome! Ruben
Congratulations! I have an 85 QV GTB and a 86 3.2 Carrera also and yes very different but both great....the Porsche works for easy jump in and out runabouts where the 308 u need to get in the "zone" I don't know it's hard to explain!
Ruben: We are really lucky to have the variety of car companies each with a different philosophy but focused on the driving experience. I have spent the last year and a half sorting the Carrera and it is running well and is a joy to drive. The Red car need a little love to get there but I look forward to replicating your back to back experience as the weather allows. The Porsche is intense, quick revving, torquey, communicative, encouraging, and that air-cooled sound is just great - especially past 4000rpm! The red car is refined, a bear at slower speeds, smooth as silk at driving speeds, smooth on the throttle and power delivery and an amazing sound at 4000rpm also! You can really feel its lower polar moment of inertia. It really feels mid-engined. With the 911 you can feel the lump hanging off the back and gives good indication if you are getting a little too carried away. The red car is more Lotus-like. Right now it is so new I don't feel I can be myself around her. We'll get over that fast enough Triumphguy: I know what you mean. I use the Carrera as a DD when the weather isn't awful and with good winter tires it is a great commuter car. the 3.2 cars are super reliable and very usable. They don't get the attention that a 308 does which is also a good thing so I can run an errand or two as well. I don't imaging it is a good idea to leave the 308 in a parking lot all by itself too long But... if I know me, I'll drive it more than I should godabitibi: Yup, that is ours... "Miss Eva" a '58 A Cab. Great car! It has been in the family for over 50 years; an "heirloom" car. I am the current care taker and finally have that car sorted as well. It is an absolute dream to drive, smooth and sophisticated, capable and very engaging. Quite the looker too. How did you know? ...and all the way from Canada! Eva is the go-to car for summer driving events that don't require traversing 10,000ft passes. To all the Euro guys, I'm looking forward to getting into all the Euro-ey goodness on the car and finding out what was messed with for federalization. The car doesn't have cats, but does have an O2/Lamda. It has screens on the rear body air intakes, but square side markers. The hidden check digit has been exposed to verify it was a legal car probably when it was imported. I have all the manuals and tools and such and the car was well take care of, just that it is starting to show some wear in areas (mostly interior). I believe the paint to be all original. I have so much to learn about it! Thanks again guys for all the comments! You are a very welcoming group! Franny

With a name Google image can do a lot ;-) You'd like to talk with Louise (LRACINE) who bought a Testarossa lately she also own a 356 since a long time.
308 people. Get the serial number on this car! Here is the simple recipe: Start with a solid car. Add a year or two (or more) of Franny's attention/dedication to making the car correct. IF she ever decides to sell it, it will be one to have! Congratulations Franny!!
Congrats! Beautiful ride. I think Colorado is a good luck state in which to buy 308's. I bought my '79 Euro GTS in Brighton, CO. Have never had a problem with it in the 6 years that I have owned it. It to was cared for by FOD. Since it's last major at EUGENIO'S, it has never skipped a beat. Wish you the same good fortune.
