Think the OP said it was listed for $145k and purchased for $138k. Was an ex-rental stated to be in excelent condition but apparently not. Purchased sight unseen. 27k miles. I think for the price and usage history it's relative condition is in best case to be expected and quite frankly it could have been much worse.
Yes I purchased it at $138k without seeing it, based on what the seller had described. At first glance the car looked OK until up close. The things that bothered me the most is that there's alot of area that were touched and were not put back properly. I mean, it's ok to have worn out parts and even if it's beat up, but this car is something else. It seems the car was so poorly refurbished and put together and rushed to market. I took the car to a buddy who has a scud and knows quite a bit about the car and we found a few more issues - muffler is crooked to one side, passenger side is dangerously close to air box - passenger side door is tilted and misaligned - rear diffuser was poorly painted and had some missing fasteners, passenger side is not fastened properly, there's a gap between the diffuser and the "frame" where it's attached to, and there is no fastener - rear grilles were fastened with home depot self taping screws where they should be hex - steering rack is loose and has free play, found the issue to be the knuckle is worn out - engine bay panels were painted black, but they are actually CF and original (which is a good thing to know) The things that i'm concerned about is that something had happened to the passenger side, where all the things are out of alignment. Taking the car to get inspected more closely for other damages this week.
I'm not sure if the 15 day rule works with a dealer to dealer purchase. I'm sure you can go on the AZ DMV site and look it up. As a dealer, he should know how to buy a car. It was a great price because it needs some stuff (ie money). That's why it was cheap.
The 15 day rule in AZ applies to major component of the car, this car drives fine and there's no major issue. with that being said, I'll live with it, if the car checks out without no major issue(prior accident, frame damage..etc), since the car has a clean carfax. otherwise, the seller will be getting a nasty lawsuit.
Sure he knows that now. But those items should be disclosed don't you think? At least some of them? I'm not excusing the lack of an inspection, but there is some level of responsibility on the seller.
Not passing jugement on this but, It is common knowledge, rental cars, rental homes rented anything, will get rode hard and hung up wet and will never be cared for like an owner who has skin in the game! you got exactly what you paid for! ok sorry I just passed judgment.
I knew what i am getting myself into, but I think at least the issues should have been disclosed properly on the sale. The seller disclosed NONE of the issues i described on Ebay and his retail website, and on OVE he disclosed only the 3 panels on passenger side were resprayed. very shady business. those issues are so obvious and his response was "you bought a used car, what do you expect"
Sellers (business sellers/dealers etc.) will always say the cars are great, then when the buyers point out details they say it's a used car and in great shape for the years and mileage. It's always been this way be it a Ferrari or a chevy or whatever. It's happened to all of us before. Just fix the things that bother you and enjoy the car, she's a scud you got for less than the price of any others by a huge margin, so you have some money left in picket to make some things right.
I agree, but one person's 'perfect' is another person's salvage. I've bought enough cars at a distance, sight unseen to have run the gamut.
I remembering seeing this and called. Seller told me was not a rental, I thought it was so stayed away. I'm glad. What did it sell for.
138k and he said the car was the best one he's seen, as he gets most the ex rental cars from Exotic Racing Las vegas, either by consignment or something I'm not sure. as a used car dealer myself, I would not even sell a Honda in such condition. And the seller is not sending me the 2nd key because I wrote this negative review about him, how childish.
Ok I'd like to keep this post going just so you guys know what's been going on The seller didn't include the 2nd key at the time my transportation picked up the car, now he doesn't want to send it because he saw this thread that I am writing ***** about him see attached Image Unavailable, Please Login
New key is ~$500 FYI. He's going to renege on the deal because he doesn't like the review of his dishonest description? What a scumbag. Again, good luck man.
I agree the guy is a scumbag but, you never buy a used car sight unseen and you never ever buy a used exotic sight unseen and without a PPI. As a used car dealer you should know this better than anyone else. Sometimes people don't know what they are selling and the rest of the time they Lie. Good luck but, you should have known better.
While we all recognize sarcasm, courts don't always do. Your last statement could be interpretted as accepting that you will not be receiving the key "If you don't want to send the 2nd key, then that is fine..." . It is best to be consistent in your demands and reiterate at every step that you are requiring the 2nd key before the purchase contract is considered complete. Be firm and persistent.
Wow this is a real drama and mess. You may need to seek legal representation at some point if the issue persists although the gray area here is determining a position on a matter of condition of the vehicle, which is subjective. Keep us posted on how this all unfolds.
Customer Reviews for JSC Motorcars, LLC - BBB serving Central, Northern and Western Arizona Sounds like a similar scenario maybe.
EXACTLY - " car was listed in mint condition. but he had his own definition of mint condition. "their was more wrong with car than was right"
There is no chance in hell you got a "mint" condition scud for 138k take what you paid for and shove it up your ass. If you paid 185-200 k like most normal people who purchased a used scud then you would have room to complain. You STOLE that car and you have room to fix the issues. So stop wasting your time talking **** about a fellow used car dealer and spend a few bucks making it perfect and flip it for a profit. None of this is rocket sience. What's the name of your dealer so I don't accidentally buy something from you.
Not sure this car was a steal! Who knows what is mechanically wrong with the car. It's been beaten. Doesn't matter what he paid. The condition of the car should have been disclosed and then the buyer can make an informed decision. Clearly the buyer should have also flown in to see car, spend a day there and get a ppi done. That said, this dealer was a scumbag - the text he sent to the buyer says it all. Very childish. This would never happen at an authorized ferrari dealer. That said, let the buyer be aware. FYI- not sure those ripped chairs can be repaired.
Nonsense. There are decent scuds in the 140s and 150s. This car needs some rather annoying parts and/or reconditioning to get it to that level. It's a wash at BEST; no way is it a steal.
