Nice! Looks like a Vegas car?
16M looking hot. How come it doesn't have the carbon side skirts/rockers I'm used to seeing on like every 16M out there. I love the Rosso Corsa car looks minty! Congrats
I know! I love the carbon fiber rocker panels. I wish this was standard in the 16M being they carbon fiber'ed (word?) practically everything. 1) Does anyone know where I can get an OEM version of these? I'd love to have them installed. Or, parts in general - not sure if it's best to simply work with the local dealership on this. 2) There are a few cosmetic issues including a bent speaker grill on the driver door, and some small scratches that hit metal between body panels in two spots. I never saw this at the dealer until I looked top down at just the right angle. For items like these small scratches, do you think it's worth fixing? My main concern is that it hits carfax, or someone purchasing the vehicle years (many many as I plan to keep this baby) feels if the fix compromises the originality of the vehicle. Not saying this is a classic, but at the same time a bunch of paint blobs all over the vehicle is poor taste. Was not sure how common it was to fix these in a highly professional manner that the untrained, or even trained eye cannot distinguish. Sorry for all the questions Thanks, Scott
Beautiful car!!! I love it. Stripe is cool. Not sure I've seen that one before. More pics when you can. Enjoy it in good health!!
1) OEM I guess from Ferrari dealer. MaCarbon do carbon rockers which I've heard good things about. 2) If it bothers you get the chips done, good shop will do an invisible mend. I don't know anything about carfax but surely they don't record chip repairs? Speaker grills are virtually impossible to keep perfect, had mine repaired twice but even taking care somehow every so often my foot makes a slight contact again!
I got my 16M in California last December with only 5800 miles on it. It spent the first few months with me on the Outer Banks in North Carolina (not ideal sports car country), and then most of the summer in upstate New York near Watkins Glen. I took it to many shows, including winning Favorite Exotic at the Hemmings show in Saratoga Springs in August. Several late summer trips through the Adirondacks, and then the Vintage Grand Prix weekend at Watkins Glen in September. As the car is now in North Carolina for the winter, it now has over 13,000 miles. When spring finally arrives, you MUST DRIVE this car. It really likes to be driven hard and often. You're in for a great treat. Nothing else like it. You will not be able to describe to your friends how much fun it is. Happy Thanksgiving and safe motoring.
Excellent advice. I feel better about the speaker grill now as well. You see these things and think: Man, anyone who is as meticulous about their car as I am would not cause this. Then, one day -- whack! You hit it yourself, tail in-between legs
Thanks Skip. Coincidentally I live in Saratoga Springs, NY. We have a great car museum here. I definitely plan to drive it on nice days with the top down. I live 5 minutes from my business which makes for an intense, low mileage drive to wake me up in the morning
More pics buddy we need more pics!!! Interior exterior engine bay undercarriage trunk space the works! Lol enjoy
Beautiful. I've dreamed about changing my 430 spider for the 16M but the S.O. says no.... got the GT3RS on the radar so something has to give. Congratulations on a stunning car! Cheers FN
Thanks all! Pics will follow soon once I am back in town. Thanks also for the advice on the rockers. I am going to let the car settle before I start making changes. I don't expect to do much. Just want to get her on the road!
Don't sweat the small stuff. Take it from another 16M owner, you're going to scrape that front bumper all the time and you'll have little scratches in the carbon door sills in no time if you don't already have them. I also vote for keeping the painted OEM rockers.
Either way it's a 16M you can't go wrong on the rockers I always liked the cf rockers on the 16 because it kinda distinguishes the body. How much are they and who makes them & where to get them... Heck I think they're cool on any F430
Hey! Welcome to 16M ownership. It's the best car I've every owned and can't imagine a day when I'd sell it. Enjoy!
