I can't imagine that Denmark would host a F1 race given how eco/green that entire population is. F1 is everything they are against. Worse than the French even.

And let's not forget they have something like 90% taxes so any subsidy for the race would come pretty much directly from the taxpayers. And as I said, that's hard to imagine they would embrace an event, which glorifies combustion engines.

Maybe they confused it with Formula E?

Unless Bernie's pal Karsten Ree (Den Bla Avis) or Bestseller and Saxo get involved, there isn't
much an industrial base to get behind an F-1 event in Denmark.

There is a vintage/historic event that takes place in the streets of Copenhagen
but not sure if that would be adequate for F-1.

    From Wikipedia:

"Danes enjoy a high standard of living and the country ranks highly in numerous comparisons of national performance, including education, health care, protection of civil liberties, democratic governance, prosperity and human development. Denmark is frequently ranked as the happiest country in the world in cross-national studies of happiness. The country ranks as having the world's highest social mobility, a high level of income equality, has one of the world's highest per capita incomes, and has one of the world's highest personal income tax rates."

    Enough said ...

Will this be a street circuit? I'm not aware of an FIA Grade 1 course in Denmark.

With its energy recovery system, its reduced fuel consumption and noise abbatment, F1 is more attractive than ever to eco friendly audiences like Scandinavian countries.

Also, Danes don't pay 90% of their income in taxes; the highest figure I found was 57% (all inclusive) for top earners. Which is less than in some other countries.

It can also be pointed out that the Danes get a lot in return in terms of public spending on health, education, infrastructure, etc...

Europe is home for F1. I can understand extensions to other continents, but the powers that be in F1 have forgotten what is really home to F1. And it is not Abu Doobidobidoo, or Singapoor, it is Europe.

Okay, lets get some facts about Denmark.

Taxes are very high, from ~40% to ~60% depending on your income.
Yes we pay a registration tax of 180% on cars - so you pay for almost 3 cars when you buy one! :(
Yes we have one of the biggest wellfare systems in the World, but healthcare is free (except dentist), so you dont have to Worry about paying a mega bill for brain surgery or anything alike!
Education is free - you even get paid 200-1200 US dollars a month by the governent! (Depending on the type of Education and if you live by your parrents or not)
If you get unemployed, dont Worry - you'll get 3300 dollars a month to help you cover the basic needs.

We are NOT eco extremists - although the governent wants to show the world that we are!

    There you go!

And what GP today can be financed without support from the govt?

That leaves very little chance for this to happen

Very unlikely to happen. There is no track for it currently.

They're planning another track but it will not be finished until '21+.

As for a street race in Copenhagen - forget it. Will never ever happen due to noise. They want cars out of the city, not in. The Birkenstock Brigade would never ever accept it.

Aren't they the happiest people in the world? Politics and red tape aside, it would be great if Denmark can indeed host a race.

    Why?

If you want a Euro race then first we need France back. Or Holland.
If you want a Nordic place then Sweden has more F1 history.

Granted I take any Euro GP over an Asian one but Denmark doesnt really lend itself to F1

    Baku in Europe?
The limits of Europe in that region are the Caucass mountain range.
Azerbijan is well South of that, and belongs to Asia.

Does Denmark have a track that is suitable for F1? Building a new track is big $$$, raising capital for that in these troubled economic times?

I learned Ural Mts, but you know us Americans are notoriously flimsy when it comes to geography. :) Regardless, F1 in Denmark, I got a chance of talking the wife into that. F1 in Baku: I'd have to go stag...T
