Because there is more to motor racing than one race on the Nordschleife and Ferrari do not build racing cars for a specific race.

I have never "lost" a splitter in a 24 hour race

By the way, the corner you appear to be referring to is called the Karussell in German and the Carousel in English

Michael, can you shed some light on engine and chassis types for the FF, F12, California 30/30, and the California T? I have the chassis type for the F12 as F152 ABE; I have the chassis type for the FF as F151 ALE and the engine type as F140EF; I have the engine type for the 30/30 as F136IH (changed from the first California's F136IB), but I'm not sure if the chassis type (F149 BDEL) remained the same.

Kandi, where did you find the F12 engine type as F140FC? Also, I have the engine type for the LaFerrari as F140EF, not F140FE. Can you confirm?

Ben...I saw one of the debut videos on Youtube a few minutes ago. I noticed you in the pits as they pulled it off the track. The look on your face as the car came off the track and passed you was priceless. Did you ever get a ride? Lookin forward to pics when you get it.

    Hi,
The engine labelling wasn't from my specific personal research - I had a quick look what the Wiki section got on it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_F140_engine
Unless it was a misspelling, you got FF and LaFerrari with the same 'EF' engine. I have followed naming paths from 'wiki ' and the wiki's ones seemed quite logical and plausible to me.

Btw. Thanks for some examples of chassis types with engine types.

PS. We can help Wiki on the newest Ferrari FXX-K section.:) (more data)

    Hi, Kandi...

I didn't realize you had a genuine interest in Ferrari chassis types and engine types. If you have any questions about these details on other Ferrari models, please let me know; I'd be happy to assist. I'm reluctant to take the word of other Websites (e.g., Wiki) because the information I seek is so esoteric and not well known, and misinformation is so easily disseminated and often posted as fact.

For instance, I didn't notate the engine type of the 458 Speciale until I was able to see a 458 Speciale in person, and photograph the engine type and number:

Thank you for your posts, and pictures. The best is the tangible truth :). I really appreciate your level of competence, especially that those things are not commonly known. Unfortunately I didn't have an opportunity to be e.g. so close to a LaFerrari in person, but I do share the Ferrari passion like many of people here.

    Best,

When your opportunity comes - and it will come - it might be hard to focus. You'll want to get a picture of the VIN, sure; but then the excitement of seeing a new Ferrari, in the flesh, for the first time, can make us forget to search for other details (assembly number, series number, engine number, body number, gearbox number, etc.). Those details are also important - but most important is to simply enjoy the moment. Everyone's first time should be more passionate than educational.

Surely it has to be. A Ferrari is a Ferrari - it's more than simply a sum of its parts.
Btw. In not so distant past, I was a fan of those 550s, 575s (Labre, BMS Scuderia, etc):
    http://www.barchetta.cc/All.Ferraris/events-stories/stories/550-gto/550-gt-gts-gto/index.html

Now they are history, and I enjoy finding out more of their details, racing history etc.
    That is epic.

But let's get back now to the FXX K :).

What is the price of the car? I've heard 2,3 million euro, but with or without local tax?

€2.2 ex local tax. But the cars are stored at Ferrari, so anything other than italian tax should not be applicable. I know Ferrari have been "clever" in the past moving the XX's around to avoid paying tax on them.

The money are big. But the experience is, I bet, priceless.

At this point no money can buy it now, because all have been already sold out.
    Grrrargh!;-)
PS. Seems you got the quite right numbers.

I'm sure it is and to Ben and Peter … congratulations. Already looking forward to seeing your cars in action and being driven hard … no matter what other people may believe. I hope Spa will be on the calendar again … if it is chances are you guys will be able to demonstrate that XX cars are being used in the rain and tricky conditions :)

    Cheers,

    M

CC visits Spa 1-2 September next year. However if I'm not mistaken, FXX K won't participate in the calendar until 2016?

Not me. June is a very busy month with the 24 hours of Le Mans

Will probably do Ricard in July
