UK delivery, so they put it on a covered transporter along with 4 others and drive to the French ports and take a quick ferry.

Just been told it gets to the dealer next Friday, so may collect Sunday or Monday !!

Will post most pics in the Pics thread, but for those who read the earlier postings, I thought you may like to see the model car I had on that monitor for so long, finally meeting its successor.

Very pleased with the car - happy with the silver dash and steering wheel inner, paddles and the leather LED housing. Quite an emotional night with friends, one way or another.

Fuoco is gorgeous - I have a good camera and Lightroom, but I haven't yet tried to recreate the reality of the colour as I perceived it in the showroom. The red in pics look too bright as shot. However, the one outside the pub really illustrates why this colour is so attractive.

But its now a beautiful morning and I'm off for a drive!

very nice story .. The 550/575 are works of art to me one of the best looking cars of the time.. now your F12 is awesome. the color is is just spectacular and you are correct the lighting really plays tricks with this color .. an interesting lighting affect is if the sunlight or other is shining from the front and the sides are in semi shade if you can get it just right the light will come through the fender bridges and shine through the scallops on the fenders I had mine parked in just the right way one a ideal day (unknowingly) and it was really cool but I did not have a camera...

Couple of minor niggles, one major.

Boy oh boy, somebody along the way between the paint shop and my collection knows how to botch a paint finish. After all my concerns about orange peel, and mitigating that risk by having the wonderful Rosso Fuoco done by the specialist shop rather than in house at Ferrari (or so I am led to believe), my beauty had SCRATCHES all over it!

Just those tiny ones, you understand, as if a gritty sponge had been used to clean it, but to my critical eye a complete violation of the car's finish. Clearly, somebody had not treated a £12k paint job with the respect it deserves.

What's more I was charged £500 for Swisswax detailers by the dealer. Did they cause it? Dunno. But if not they should have seen the scratches before the polish and pointed them out, to the dealer at least.

Got my own detailer on it, in the hope they were not too bad and could be removed after a days work, but no dice.

To their credit, the dealer immediately agreed to pay for the remedial work by my own guy (£750) as if it always happened. Offered their guys but I chose not.

Bloody stupid, really. Top marks for revolving a customer complaint, null points for Quality Control.

Sorry to hear about your paint issues. Unfortunately it's not as uncommon as most of us would like it to be. That's my biggest fear with these cars, a botched paint job. And at the cost of a triple layer, it just has to be the dogs on delivery. You're right, bloody stupid. I simply fail to understand why my wifes Polo came with a better paint job than I've seen on most exotics. I think Porsche does pretty good work, but Merc, Masser, Ferrari, Lambo even Rolls Royce. Our dealer finally agreed to cover the ca. 1500 euro paint correction we had to get done on our Range Rover this spring. It's mind boggling:(

Glad to hear that your dealer is trying to make it right. That car in that colour is simply a work of art.

Sorry to hear of your paint issues and having suffered rubbish paint on my Cali, Spyder and F12 I assumed, like you, that by having the car painted not by the factory would resolve the issue and hence was going for Grigio Ferro but your experience suggests this is no solution.

The paint is lovely, but has lacked TLC since it was applied. Where exactly that occurred who knows. On the factory visit I saw several examples of assembly workers being *very* free and easy with their hands on uncovered painted panels, and the state of the cars as they came off the production line and into the storage huts was shocking, I kid you not. I was there to see examples of paint colours and finishes, but since the cars looked so poor it didn't help.

The other niggle was this...can you see what it is?

not surprised to hear about these issues. Ferrari needs to really up their game in some areas of quality control. I bought a new rosso corsa 458 and the paint quality was terrible. I had it paint corrected by a professional and the results were spectacular. I had a nero 599 HGTE and I also had that paint corrected. It's worth the investment to me to correct the errors of the factory.

The protective film for the right foot was not removed (same as mine) and the hole in the carpet for the connector seems a bit large (I'll have to check on mine). I actually enjoyed having the film left on but the dealer removed it during prep.

If I were you I'd get a full paint correction and put it behind you. There's so much good stuff ahead that you will forget about the swirls/scratches.

Yup! Connector hole seems a bit too obvious, was not expecting to see the connector at all. There is also a missing but of carpet higher up, exposing something pink(!).

I now know about the protective film, but when I first noticed it I had no idea what I was looking at. All niw explained.

Couldn't agree more about putting it behind me! Will get it sorted in the new year, in the meantime going to use her over Xmas!

The plus point in the rubbish paint so many of us experience is that it forces you into the arms of someone like Todd and when he has finished with the car, you simply cannot believe the difference and will be ecstatic all over again. So in short, something further to look forward to.
