I love my Alonso. Like most Ferraris, looks much better in the flesh IMHO. The Rosso Scuderia 2011 paint metallic flakes are subtle, but it is really stunning in sunlight.

Can someone please confirm me something that I have noticed since a long time but I'm not 100% sure.

The 599 Alonso wheels and the alternate wheels for the FF are the same.

    Taz ?

Like Mark said, they appear to be the same design, but the offsets and rear width are slightly different. Most of the late 114.3 mm x 5 bolt pattern wheels are pretty close on offsets, though and pretty interchangeable if they are wide enough. The 599's rear wheels would bolt up to an FF with no problem and the HGTE fronts are so close, no trouble there, either.

Very pretty color and tasteful trim. Plus they are very rare with far more of the Alonso trim versions out there.

Oliver- I kept getting asked so many questions about wheels, figured I might as well document the sizes and offsets so I did not have to look it up every time. Was helped by a bunch of owners and pros, who gave me the data off the casting marks on the back of the wheels so we knew it was accurate.

I like the Gonzales edition, esp because well, it's just a 599 with a bigger shield (like the old race cars). But asking $400k+ is a bit ridiculous when you can get a GTO for $100k more or a very nice HGTE for $150k less. Get a HGTE and a Challenge Stradale!

I concur. These 599 limited editions are beautiful, but at $300K-$400K, why not try to get a high mileage GTO for a not a huge amount more ? The Miller GTO is only $475K and is IMHO a 100X better drive/investment than these other 599 editions. A GTO with miles on her vs. a no miles Gonzales/Alonso ? I know what 599 I'd get. Unless your going to garage queen the car, these basically still new in the wrapper limited edition 599's will end up having miles on them in any event. I'd rather get a GTO with miles on her and a less desirable spec. than any other 599 (except the 599SA).

I don't think you can look at these cars as financial investments. I say get what you love. FWIW, I'd rather have the GTO, but I agree with Terry- thank goodness for differing tastes. These cars are cool.

The only thing I like about the 60 F1 edition exterior wise is the '''Scuderia Ferrari'' sticker on the butress wing things. The white just looks tacky, the wheels aren't very nice and the painted on Scuderia shields, whilst technically correct as they are like that on F1 cars, just looks cheap.

I think the issue is now moot. The Miller GTO was the least expensive US spec GTO available. Its now sold. I don't see any US spec GTO's available for below $500K regardless of mileage. Just seems to me that a "super high mileage" GTO (even if it had 20K miles on her) is a better driver and a long term investment than any other 599 derivation. FWIW I actually think these other models are attractive but if you are paying MSRP (or even $300K+) for a "still in the wrapper" Alonso/Gonzalez edition your probably gonna take a massive hit when you sell unless you hold for a very long time and keep then as garage queens. Again, I think the GTO is just treated differently by the market and some miles on the beast is acceptable. I drove mine today (yes in the NY winter) and had a blast. To hear that V12 shriek with every car hitting their brakes when I get on the pipe. Definitely nirvana :) I strongly recommend that everybody thinking about that Alonso/Gonzales edition to at least drive the GTO once. If, after that drive, you don't want to take a 2nd mortgage out on your house (just kidding) to obtain the GTO then by all means get the Alonso or whatever. Just food for thought before you pull the trigger.

Do you think if vintage cars are in a bubble that applies to this too?

I think there is a direct relationship between these cars. FWIW I don't think the vintage and collectible cars are in a bubble and thus I don't think 599 GTO values will come down - at least in the foreseeable future.

Btw- I agree with these end of run 599s. Cool cars but not going to hold value.

At least here in Europe the 599 Alonso Edition is commanding a premium compared with the standard 599. There are just 2 cars available at the moment and I know that one car was sold last month for 270.000 USD. I think it will further appreciate.
