It is quite cheap down here, $0.95 per liter for Shell V-Power. I forget the octane rating, IIRC it is 93 octane. This is the highest rating Shell fuel in the country.
Unless I wanna buy the Pertamax Racing fuel (only two fuel stations in town) which is about $3.95 per liter. Quadruple in price.

It was running so rich at idle it made my eyes water , fuel consumption should be better now

Plus it leaks fuel like the Exxon Valdez when the tank is full ... which is scary with all those wires back there.

Something we need to put some more thought into a come up with a solution.

Yikes!! thirsty engine. But 20 minutes dyno is not an economy type of driving. Easy to understand why they have low miles ;-)

I like those driving pictures. Can't wait to drive 094. Does it really feel heavy to drive?
It look like a very bad boy in flat black!

Most of the credit to Indra and Agus for going the extra effort and not cutting corners.

My role was more design changes and tyre kicking what had been done

Taffy did a great job SHOPPING (his hobby) , funding it all and handling all the logistics and imports which isn't easy

I remember Jeep CJ7 racing on the Ancol race track back in the 80s. All of them spill fuel on the corners. Scary.

The dyno was only 3 WOT runs, and mild driving in between to check the engine ECU on all rpms.

Driving the car is not heavy at all.
I'm quite surprised that all the magazine and Youtube reviews are saying that You needed muscle to move the car. The LM is very different than the Countach. The clutch is as light as my BMW E34 M5 (and mine is the lightest of 5 BMW M5s we have in our group). Steering is nice, gearbox needs a firm push when You shift but not heavy.

It's OK as a daily driver If You can live with 5mpg. I don't have any problem with the width of the car, my only complain is the turning circle.

Next step is comparing the 10kmh - 120 kmh run with BMw 530i manual. Similar power-to-weight ratio. 455hp-3100kg vs 215hp-1550kg.

Or test the LM with my Gtech Pro
    GTech-Pro Model SS

The LM002 turned out really well Taffy.

The best decision was upgrading from the Magnetic Spaghetti ECUs and putting a new Haltech ECU system in.

It starts like a Toyota now (about 1 second to fire) compared to starting a Merlin V12 before PLUS we can data log for fine tuning and fault tracing.

I guess you can describe this as a resto-mod. The only modifications were a total re-wire , ECU and headlight upgrade so you can actually DRIVE the LM without fear of the damn thing breaking down all the time. Exhaust upgrade was also done.

The wiring was a disaster when it was new , then add 25 years of cracked insulation, cracked connectors and dead or unreliable relays plus wiring short cuts and additional circuits when past mechanics couldn't fix something so they just by passed it with new wire. Then having the main fuse box BELOW THE AIR-CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR on the RHD car was asking for trouble.

The next thing is try to work out how to get a decent turning circle out of the monster.

I have to agree with Taffy , these motoring journalists must be wimps , the clutch IS heavier than a Toyota Corolla or whatever it is these journalists daily drive but by performance car standards it's nice

The suspension is beautiful for an off road truck , it's like a Paris Dakar long travel set up and it soaks up pot holes, bumps and speed humps delivering a very nice ride. On the suspension I give Lambo full marks

Gearshift is clunky and truck like , about the same as my Jeep J20 pick up , it's awful.

Handling is good for a 3 ton monster , not much body roll, lots of steering feedback , no wandering or tram lining and the LM can be placed exactly where you want it.

    Brakes adequate.

Engine has adequate power below 4k rpm and above that it's respectable

The noise in the cabin from the engine and gearbox above 4k rpm is loud , not so much exhaust but valves , intake roar and gearbox noises (gearbox is fine, that's how it is).

How they managed to build a Toyota Corolla interior in something that's 5.5 metres long is a puzzle.

The turning circle is the biggest let down , now I know why the back compartment is there, you need 2 muscle bound gorillas to jump out and stop traffic while you attempt to do a U turn with low speed maneuverability that was inspired by a Nimitz class aircraft carrier.

The best part of this whole project is all of us have become very firm friends , there wasn't one argument during the whole build.

    What a great team !

I drove it again this morning fr 5 mins around Your office Tony,

The gearshifter is tilted to the left (for LHD), I guess we can custom made one tilted to the right. It will make driving it a little bit easier.

I found my clutch very heavy on my old LM, the shifter wasn't bad but had a long throw. The power steerng was great and yes I agree the turning radius was not very good. I also agree with the ok brakes and adequate power. It would have been cool if they made a light weight SV version, I bet it could have been pretty quick!

    Hahahaha SV or superleggera?
    I don't think a lightweight is possible.
The chassis is stiff and super heavy.
The fiberglass hood and body panels is a good. Solution, saving another 50-100kg compared to steel.

After I drove it again today I feel that the clutch is not heavy, it is the clutch pedal angle that made it worse than it should be. My left foot is sore after trying to make 7-point turn (LOL) in Tony's office to park it in a tight spot.

Drove it home from the garage on Christmas Eve, about 10 miles.
My driver followed me in another car acting as a chase plane :p

LM feels nice, but more than 4,000 rpm I can feel the heat from the engine bay on my legs :p
I need to put more heat insulation around that area.
AC is good, but I'm driving at 10pm, should test it again tomorrow 6am before the road is full.
Hopefully traffic on Christmas day will be clear.

    Merry Christmas from Jakarta.
Peace on earth and peace in our hearts.

The good news is that the gearshift can be adjusted to tilt to the right side, no need to fabricate a custom gearshift stalk.
We are missing the leather gearshift boot cover, will make a new one soon.

The bad news is that the alternator voltage regulator went bust, at idle speed the voltage is 12.8-13.5 volts but at half throttle it went up to 17 volts.
Gotta find the workshop that repair the alternator's regulator this week.

Went from my house to Tony's office, tried as slow as possible to maintain 13 volts charging , but halfway there I had to accelerate on a steep bridge, and the car stopped (Later on we found out that the ECU fuse popped out, I didn't check it at that moment). The second half of the trip was me being towed by my other car. I always have my driver following me as a 'chase plane' whenever I'm driving a classic, especially the LM during the stage of driving/troubleshooting.

Replacing the alternator and putting it back on took me and my mechanic 5-hours, and he already did this for about three times. Nice.
Luckily the problem is now solved. The voltage charge drops back to 12.1v-12.5v, good enough for me.

OTW back I was already so tired (slept only from 2:00am-5:30am last night) I felt so stressed to have to keep monitoring all the indicators.
When I got home I realized I forgot my i-phone. :p .. Back to the garage, this time I ride shotgun with my driver on the wheel.
