Several wanted ads on FChat for QVs - very few have come for sale. There was a very decent 84 at FoD that sold in a couple of weeks for somewhere near $60k, before being photographed for their web site. An 85 at FoSD sold before it was listed - price TBD but over $70k for a 19k-mile red/tan.

Both cars went to local buyers before they could be properly listed.

Blue chip late QVs seem to be in short supply. Unmodified US-spec cars especially have been hard to find. Maybe higher prices will bring more onto the market.

Hagerty has my 81 GTSi presently valued at $43,000. I plan on increasing it to $55,000, which is probably what it would take for me to part with her.

$72,000.00 is my best guess, from a Hagerty perspective. Just brought mine out of storage and shipped it to San Jose, CA from Chicago last October. My baby landed in CA with 6,700 miles on her, i did the 30k service, along with changing all the hoses. A 1984 308qv, now with 7,620 miles on it. In my mind she is priceless.

I remember being sixteen years old and going down to the Dealership with my dad, when he purchased it new. Growing up, my dad would only allow me drive her when he was in the car. He used to say "you can take her out alone, when you can afford to own one". Talk about motivation and goal setting, I purchased her from my dad in 1998, when I turned 30.

My car will be passed down to my son someday. One thing is for sure, I will let my son drive her when he turns 16, since I wanted to so bad when I was that age. A priceless family heirloom, priceless.

With under 10K miles, $72K is probably low. Autosport Design had a 10K-mile '85 QV listed at ~$90K. It sold, though not sure how close to asking.

Mike, big congrats on your new QV and Welcome! What's the S/N? I too have an 84. Also, can you post some pics of your baby? Thanks.

It's funny, Yours had 6,700 miles when you bought it, mine had 67,000 when I bought mine. :)

Hi Mike, my s/n is 52519, stamped as July '84. I will look for some current photo's and figure out how to post them.

I like your euro conversion front end on yours. Scary though, I can't imagine coming up to a speed pump and even attempting to go over one. Did you drop the stance on yours with some adjustable coil over shocks? Mine is still all original and coming from stock, they should come down maybe 1.25 inches in the front and 1" in the back for a proper stance. Next years project for me.

What does the FML asking price index show currently? Is it similar to hagerty's ?

I tossed out the two highest and two lowest numbers and averaged the rest.

    So far it is $49,726.

(again excluding to two highest and two lowest figures) only about 17 of us picked a value over 50 and about 25 picked in the 40's

It appears that, on average, we all still see these cars under $50,000 even into next year.

Correction to my own post: This car was consigned to Bonham's January sale with an estimate of $75,000-$100,000.

why would the Benchmark be the Carbed 2 valve cars.

Look at anything else and the Carbed cars are always Worth more than the later injected 4 valve cars.

I expect it to be around 45, which is about a 10% increase from last time. I expect them to be a bit conservative and not make a huge jump over a 3 month period.

I think hagerty is low. For example they show a #1 glass GTB at a little over $100k. Having said that, I would put the "contest car" at $51k
