Darth- Take the belt out of the plastic guide on the seat and it works fine.
My vote is for the sticky parts and the rubber around the glass which seems to degrade much faster than any other car I have ever owned. All that aside my 550 is not for sale and I love her as much today as the day she was delivered.
John has a solution for that... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRNtAFfA_l4[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV_rd4VjI2s]MVI 3538 - YouTube[/ame] Ya gotta love MSW!
Barry- His COP kit negates the need for high tension wires, too. Delta Vee has Dave's fix for the shock actuators and mounts, too.
Dave Has his last ever cruise control for sale. Dave Fat billy Bob Nikki Sixx Who else will have this rare skunk works option?
Right, Terry. Dave and John have done so much for our Maranellos. Let's not forget John's oil pressure sender boot. I don't have a picture of it on my 550, but here it is on my F355 Challenge... . Image Unavailable, Please Login
The volume of the AC. It can drown out the engine. Also, the damn blinker. Really, 1 indicator light...
There are two (#9), left and right... Edit: Sorry, I just noticed that you have a 575M. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
My 944 turbo only has one indicator light too. I've become accustomed to that. I know what my left hand did. The indicator light just confirms it.
All the right guys are Reading this thread so maybe somebody can help me. This is what I need part # 25, Ferrari is only selling # 47 for $900.00 Ferrari 550 Maranello Parts : Table 49 - FRONT SUSPENSION - SHOCK ABSORBER AND BRAKE DISC Any help would be greatly appreciated Once again sorry for interrupting this thread but since I had everybody in the know I thought it be a good time to ask. Cheers, Bill
Thats what I'm hoping Barry, it was cool to have all you guys on this thread ! Have a great holiday buddy.
Bill, can you see any numbers on the old one. Can you get accurate measurements of every aspect, OD, bore, etc? It might well be a generac spherical bearing ...........hopefully Let me know
Hi Dave, unfortunately as you know I just don't work on my car, I would have to have my tech get that information which would mean I guess tearing it down. I had heard a clunking noise so I went to my tech at the Auto Gallery, as soon as he heard it he said that's what it was. He had me move the car up and down and he sprayed some stuff in there and said it was okay to drive until I could find the part. Funny thing was putting the stuff in there the noise went away, when I called him he said good but we still know we need that part. If you can think of any other way please let me know. Sorry I couldn't be of any help with your request. Anything else you can think of please let me know. Maybe somebody else on this form might have that information, and would be able to supply it to you. Hoping you're having a great holiday.
I can't remember part 25 but I know I have had these apart. IIRC it is not a monoball but a hard rubber shapped bushing. I could be wrong. I just can't remember.
I'm sorry, I misread, must be getting stupid in my old age. That part is the monoball I replace in my shock mount mod. I'm not surprised it's clunking. The only way you can get my modified mount now is through DeltaVee. I sold everything to them. You'll have to contact Rob at DeltaVee for the cost. If you go factory it'll just wear out again, the mount I made is a life time thing with the possible replacement of two rubber buffers every 100,000 or so at a parts cost of maybe $10.00
I posted a picture of it on my exhaust thread, page 1 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/456-550-575-sponsored-bradan/452886-new-550-owner-exhaust-dilemna.html
Dave got this from my tech... .you need the upper ball joint for the shock. Don't know if i said it was the right front shock. I already talked to Rob about doing my shocks, since I can't do the work myself he said we would work out an appointment so I can send them in and he will turn them around in one or two days. This can only be done during one of his slow times. So I have to take my car to a shop have the shocks removed overnight them to him have him overnight them back and then have the shop reinstall. Since none of my shocks are leaking my tech said let's just wait and we'll do it when they start leaking. This problem that I'm having now I don't think has anything to do with rebuilding the shocks. That's why I'm trying to find that part. Thanks again for all the help. Cheers, Bill
Bill, When you are ready to take the shock out. There is another reason to go with the MSW/Dave's/DeltaVee's shock modification. 1-It is hard to tell if a shock is doing its job especially being on the car for a decade. 2-A leak is not the definition of a bad shock. You can have failed shock no leaks. Sometimes you see that in weird tire wear. 3-Stock 550's have a problem of actuator wind up. I think I unwound one for you once? the MSW part retrofit stops that wind up so it is a good modification 4-Some complain about a thump in the trunk and the MSW fix solves that too 5-If you can articulate any specific handling issues to DeltaVee he can revalve the shocks to sometimes improve a situation.
You did unwind one for me... my tech since has made a fix for that. I'm definitely going with MSW/Dave's/DeltaVee's shock modification. My shocks are not as old as the car they were replaced in 2008 I don't have any of the problems that you described above, my car just runs great. I just have to find the time and work it out with Rob to have them removed sent to him and sent right back to me and reinstalled. Remember I'm not like you guys I'm just helpless when it comes to working on a car. But technicians have to make a living to
