Now that my lid is off, is there a safe way to store this upright to save space? Any ideas/ photos are welcome. Thanks! Image Unavailable, Please Login
take a couple of 1x4's drill holes lined up with the hinge holes, attach, put up on end, secure/anchor latch end to wall to prevent it from falling.
I just threw down a couple 2x4's with towels on top, set the lid on it and leaned it up against the wall. I certainly would not go suspending it up off the floor with anything unless you know you are into something solid like the studs and not just drywall.

Zooomz took a piece of foam pipe insulation (similar to a swimming pool "noodle"), and slit it along the seam. He placed it over the hood's sheet metal edge and used that for protection while it was stacked against a wall.
I hung mine from the rafters. Some rope and a couple of pulleys. It is the safest place I could think of. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had mine in my game room, carpet, leaning against the wall for 5 years with no problem. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just leave mine hanging from ceiling while i work on the car. with ropes and pulleys attached to ceiling. easy on and easy off Sent from my SM-P905V using Tapatalk Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for all the advice/pics so far, fellas. Mr. Pizzaman, I thought of just doing that as well-- any concerns of the weight being on the rear lip?
no. as stated in my post thats how I stored mine via a couple 2x4 spacers and some soft towels. The whole lid assembly weighs what....25#. No need to over think this
Haha, it's so true. I just spent the last hour reading up on which gasket sealant to use... As far as the lid is {currently} concerned, I took the path of least resistance and wheeled it under the front of the car (which is on a scissor lift... which is also something I over-researched for months before buying. It never ends.)
Yes, actually the 308 was out of commission for 6 years. Here's the long and exciting thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/175114-308-engine-rebuild-cis-twm-throttle-bodies-conversion-thread.html
I didn't weigh it, but I'm sure mine was over 25 lbs. I was going to guess at least 40. Fiberglass cars lids were both lighter and much easier to attach.
I just sat it down on a blanket on the living room floor. We never use that room and it looked kind of cool there. It was only for a few hours while we were swapping out the injectors. Made it about a, billion times easier to work on the car! Franny
If you have a free wall in your garage just screw two big eyes into studs near the top of the wall a bit more that the width of the lid apart. Tie a rope between them. Hang the lid upside down on the rope using the latch hooks. Gonna take two people to get it on there if it is steel. piece of cake
Steve Arena used to hang mine from the ceiling of his Newark shop on that industrial crane he had. I'll try to find a photo... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
