Hello, A quick poll question I would like to ask you all and hear back from on is How many of you Ferrari Owners have tried smoking weed or smoke it. I personally do not smoke weed, but I was arguing with a aquaintance of mine (not friend) that smoking weed leads to a lesser chance of success, and he disagreed and claimed that most exotic car owners smoke or have smoked weed (he knows I love cars). Funny enough I told him about having a few forum accounts, and so that's how I got to this post. I would love to hear from everyone who reads in this forum section and figured this is the appropriate one to post it in. Sorry if I bothered anybody with it.
Never tried- no desire. Happy without it. We do drug testing on our Obstetrical patients and sadly about 15-20% are positive.
That's unfortunate. I appreciate the response as this was a heated argument in a chilis restaurant lol
I never have, and never will. Waste of money, opportunities and brain cells. I have too many pursuits and interests that require my full faculties to waste time on stupid drugs. Not to mention the moral implications. Greg Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
for your 11th post on ferrarichat, you choose to start a thread about smoking pot? OK...looking forward to your next thread start. good luck being taken seriously hence...
Dude, imagine if there was like, a special paint that you could apply to yourself and you'd be totally invisible. Maybe like, even walk through walls. whoa...
Smoked fairly regularly in college, and it generally was a blast. Stopped the first semester of law school. Haven't done it since (10 years ish...) As it tends to be a mood enhancer (at least for me), the stress generated by the profession tended to create a lot of paranoia. As a trial attorney, I cant imagine how wacky the experience would be today, although I think generally is an individual experience, as I know many fellow attorneys and a few judges who smoke regularly.
It does not mix with anything that requires logical, intellectual thought, clarity or basically anything that requires you to be mentally alert/switched on. Trial attorney...not a good idea. Well, not in the daytime at least. I know a lot of people smoke purely to wind down after work. Especially if it's a high (ho ho) pressure job.
How do you know? If someone is in a high pressure job with many balls up in air with corresponding concurrent deadlines, and needs to concentrate on a specific issue, wouldn't calming down allow that person to do that?
In college, weed did that just that for me. I'm just under the level considered adhd. I asked my therapist of there a correlation and she said absolutely. All but one of my friends (said person is at this point more of an acquaintance) has moved on. That was a point in time in our lives we don't regret and would probably partake occasionally if it was legal. All this nonsense that you can't function well and our completely aloof is ridiculous and made by people who have zero experience or are inherently lazy and dumb.
Hang on, And with all due respect, you are talking from a personal standpoint. From someone who is borderline ADHD, of course FOR YOU, it works fine..it brought you to a level of functionality that was comfortable for you...it used to help you. Which is all good. But as for "All this nonsense that you can't function well and our completely aloof is ridiculous and made by people who have zero experience or are inherently lazy and dumb" its so wide of the mark, I don't even know where the mark is. So it's ok, for example to smoke a joint and fly a fighter jet? Because it has no affect on your hand/eye co-ordination, your decision making speed or ANYTHING? you're so normally functioning that it's like you haven't taken anything at all? Come on man, You're lucky if you remember to turn the kettle off whilst making tea when you're high. "If someone is in a high pressure job with many balls up in air with corresponding concurrent deadlines, and needs to concentrate on a specific issue, wouldn't calming down allow that person to do that?" Yes indeed, it would, but there is a price if you smoke cannabis, you're high. Depends on how you are effected, and how much you're effected but in my opinion, high pressure decision making, and multiple taking whilst high? It's going to be sloppy.
My personal opinion from what ive seen so far, is that marijuana causes you to become on path for failure, in most instances, and is something that olding holds you back. Thank you to those of you who replied, and sorry if to some i made myself look like a clown. Being 18 years young and seeing how many people smoke it makes me realize why 9/10 cars on the road are camry's, corolla's, escort's, etc. Just my opinion
I tend to agree that weed smoking and failure go hand in hand. I'm against legalization because currently illegal drugs sole purpose is too get high. At least with alcohol, flavor and taste, etc. are the judge, not how well the booze gets you buzzed. Its mediocre to get high and it leads to mediocrity. Just a bad combination. Having said that. Yes, I have smoked pot. Didn't like being high. Didn't do it often. Not many of my high school friends, the ones who did it daily, became successful adults. The doctors and lawyers, well they like me, did it, but gave up doing it for college. My Dad was a successful stock broker in Vancouver. I attended several events related to public companies. Was surprised by the number of stock brokers, even chairmen of brokerage firms that smoked pot. In my early 20's, worked for my Dad and they always asked me if I had weed at events.
So many people just assume that if you smoke it, no matter the quantity you'll be this barely functioning halfbrain (and say dude a lot, lying down with just your head tilted a little and uttering completely retarded things ''that'll be like, so amazing...duuuude''. IMO that's pretty much what it looks like in movies and the people that base their entire life around the culture of smoking weed. I tend to avoid the people who have weed as their culture, not because they're a bad influence, but because they bore me to tears and i think, frankly, half of them are making **** up as they go along. I know of quite a few very successful people smoke smoke after work or during weekends. I barely smoke it these days (since I moved back I think I've had a handful of drags), it used to be when it was around there was a 50% chance I'd take a toke or two but in the end I much rather prefer drinking instead. Drinking is much worse for a person, and I do know of some heavy drinkers who despise it when they see someone nip a joint. Would I like a surgeon to smoke a joint before he operates on me...No. But I think a hungover surgeon is almost certainly worse. long story short, what people do in their own time doesn't really bother me. If it's within moderation and doesn't affect work, I don't see what the problem is.
