    Dear Ferraristi,

While I consider the MV TR rates a huge premium, I'm not really into collecting things. For me, If I had the car, I would drive it. But, driving it is the same as driving a standard 86 TR. For the money Preston Henn's MV TR's worth, I would buy a F 50 and drive it everyday and rack up the miles.

Whether you like the show or not, it's an icon and should be in a collection or modern art museum. It represented a cultural shift and like I said, changed the reputation of Miami and put Florida on the map. Florida was no longer tacky tourists in Hawaiian shirts but ushered in a new coolness.

Miami is now one of the Fashion centers and all the photo shoots are done here. In South Beach you see all the beautiful models at the clubs with all the exotic cars parked outside.

This is a far cry from the old hotels turned into rooming houses for retirees on fixed income.

That car had been sitting in second or third floor of the collection since at least 2002 when my wife purchased her first Maserati. At the time our salesman told us the car had been there for years and the owner had no intention of selling it and yes, he did (whether it was true or not) identify it as being one of the Miami Vice cars.

Clearly it's had a rough life. According to his receipts there's either an invoice or an estimate to paint both cars and fix a host of issues on both cars. I'd love to have it but couldn't imagine what a real price for this car is...

1.75 mil...LOL...RealMuscle thinks Don Johnson is the James Dean of the 80s. Actually, I don't know if Jimmy's long lost Spyder would fetch that much.

Why would anyone buy that when they could get John Voight's LeBaron?

Holy crap! I really hopes he gets it. I know the officially documented Miami Vice Testarossa is owned by Preston Henn. He has it on display at the swap shop in south Florida. He's turned down a few 7 figure offers.

I don't know if it will hit the 1.75, but it will pull 7 figures. If people were offering it when the economy was crap, then you had better believe they will offer the same or more now

Supposedly "Kevin T, Greenville, SC" posted the ad below for the Miami Vice Testarossa. Out of "scam curiosity" I replied to it on Oodle and promptly received a sob story from someone named "Tamara" needing to get rid of the car because it reminds her of her deceased 19 year old son; and could I provide my email address so that she could "send more pics.". I declined that and sent again through the Oodle site a request for VIN, location and name of last place the car was serviced. "Tamara" sent the same VIN as the one from the eBay auction. But so far, "she" has ignored my question about: 1. Where is the car?; 2. Who last serviced it? I reported it to Oodle.

1.7 million? A bit steep. I thought movie cars were a soft market (other than James Dean or Steve McQueen.)

I used to be in the movie prop business. Movie cars will always carry a premium over their counterparts. How much of a premium depends on the success of the movie/TV show. The trick is providing VERIFIABLE provenance from the production company. In this case I would require documents straight from Universal and Ferrari NA, not the seller. This goes for any prop sale that requires a large sum of cash.

I caught the first episode last night. I didn't watch the series when it was on TV. Too busy with career, travel, life, kids, etc.

Episode 1 of season 1 last night. Cool plotline, but what bad acting. I'm hoping it gets better!
